Seem to remember the locals were very fond of raw meat in the restaurants? Passed through Ghent on the way / way back. We were going to call in there but our flight home was moved from early evening to tea-time so we didn't really have time. Quite fancy going back though so may give it a go. It's meant to be a bit like Bruges but without the hoardes of tourists. Don't know about you but I just kept sub-consciously assuming I was in Holland when I was in the Flemish part of Belgium. Guest alex Posted April 28, 2009 Share Posted April 28, 2009 From what I saw of it (which wasn't a lot) Brussels was ok but nowt special. The gothic cathedral is canny impressive though. The main square (the Grand Place) is very beautiful although the bars are proper rip-off joints but they're nice for a couple of jars. Gorgeous city centre and really quiet, with hardly any tourists around. Best part about Antwerp was probably the really random Greggs in the middle of the city!
