Admittedly it was canny fucking lame but at least it wasn't several days in the planning and even less funny.

Someone tweeted it was £90 (sky sports subscribers) and £130 for non subscribers....

and owing to the utter absurdity of this fight and the build up I believed them

I'd pay £20 if there was a decent undercard, as it stands I'll get a stream .

You can get pretty decent odds (in the circumstances) for Mayweather. About 1/6 for him to win; 4/6 for him to win by stoppage; 2/1 by decision or technical decision.

me either, i did stick a tenner on it at better odds than 2-1 mind, purely because the other odds were shit and it'll be a bit of interest.

The ONLY reason it could go the distance is if floyd doesn't have the knockout power, but tbh it's not going be a big knockout punch anyway, he's going just hit mcgregor at will over and over again as much as he wants so he'll be stopped

I think McGregor will be out on his feet after a two or three rounds as well because I think he'll be really aggressive in his approach and be absolutely knackered.

Plus the MMA guys aren't used to throwing that many punches. The furthest I see it going is the 6th.

McGregor hasn't looked like he has a great engine in the past but you'd have to think that his training regime would be looking to improve on that. Though obviously there isn't anything that can totallly prepare you for 12 rounds with Mayweather.

Even a great prospect with a really good amateur pedigree would usually build up from 4 to 6, then 6 to 8, then 8 to 10 before fighting 12 rounds though. You can't replicate that

Conor's only chance is an early knock out but even then it's the most remote, puncher's chance. I don't see how he's going to get past the defences of the greatest defensive boxer of all time. Once it goes past the 4th or 5th, he's fucked.

Thing is McGregor is smart. He'll be defensive to conserve in rounds when he needs a second, third, fourth and fifth wind. Wouldn't surprise if McGregor wins the first three or four rounds but then he'll gets dominated after that if he doesn't knock Mayweather down. Mayweather doesn't have it in him to knock McGregor out. But he'll win by sheer weight of volume over six or seven rounds in the end.

As long as people treat it for what it is, then it should be entertaining, as it has been up to now with the  pre fight shenanigans.

WWE type scenario. Good for entertainment and certainly a massive money maker for the parties involved.

As for the winner?

That'll be decided by the powers that be, who will gauge whether a re-match is feasible in terms of creating a similar frenzy over it.
