any recommendations for a closed pair of headphones...about 50-60 quid, for me.

For rock music mostly. I want a new set.

Not headphones, but I just got these earphones. £80 here

The bad thing is how fiddly they are. It's good that they're tiny and hardly visible but it's not advised to pull them out by the wire so you've got to get a grip on the tiny bit that protrudes from the ear. The insertion technique is long winded too. Open your jaw, pull back the top of your ear with one hand and insert with the other.

Once they're in and they're staying in though it's some lovely sounding shit. When I first heard War Pigs i thought there was a numskull in my ear playing a drum. It's great when you can here the keys of the piano being pressed and not just the note it produces.

Check out the Sennheiser range and pick the pair best suited to your budget- the quality on them is absolutely superb.

I used to have a pair of the model below that one, the HD200s, until I managed to wheel my desk chair across them.

The model above comes with a replaceable cord, so if the cable breaks or starts crackling- no need for a new pair of phones.

I had a pair of AKG-Rox phones, but bust them one day by trodding on the lead, and it cracked the join at the ear. They were great phones, the sound was great, and they were comfortable to wear for a long time.

So I bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT75. They are OK, but I have never liked them as much as the AKG's. They are also semi open/closed..it wasn't a mistake, I just didn't think they would be quite so annoying, so I want a pair like the AKG's and closed.

I'll pay a bit more for ones that are worth it, but cheers for the replies lads.
