Barney 0
i still fail to see why lua lua has not his chance. look at teams like everton they are always bringing young kids through. I also agree with your point I dont see why young kids come to this club other than the wonga Lua Lua probably isn't good enough. I don't think he's playing regularly for Doncaster. The youth set up at Everton is far superior to ours, one of the best in the country-if not the best. So far this season though, Saylor, Shola, Edgar, LuaLua, and Carroll have all come through the ranks to play for the first team. Not great, but not the worst. I would say in terms of youth set up it would go everton, man city, west ham, middlesbrough. lets see if man city keep bringing through good youngsters though now they have loads of cash to burn

I think a lot of arsenals youngsters will go the same way as upson and bentley and have to leave the club to get regular games
Jimbo 175
Newcastle's teenage striker Nile Ranger marked his first international start on Wednesday evening with a goal for England's U19 side against their Bosnian counterparts. In the first of a trio of European Championship Elite Qualifying Round ties played over the coming days, Ranger lined up at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium - a venue he may be visiting at club level next season... And although he missed the target with one effort in the closing stages, Ranger headed home England's second goal on 85 minutes to seal a 2-0 success. England's next fixture sees them face Slovakia on Friday at Bradford City, before meeting Scotland at Sheffield United on Monday. Both games have 7pm kickoffs. Kitman 2207
We're going to have start giving youth a chance, mainly because we don't have the money to spend on players and/or won't be able to attract them like we used to

Sir Bob Almighty! 0
From what i've seen Ranger not only looks ready but looks eager to get into the first team, ive watched him in the reserves and such and hes always wanting the ball, giving 110% all the time. Get him in the fold next season i say, with Shola going in the other direction!
Kid Dynamite 7027
His strike partner for the under 19s has been given a few chances and looked good. Time for us to do the same with him. I honestly believe him and Carroll along with a proven championship striker would get us enough goals for promotion next season
Tom 14011
Ranger is a goal magnet, seriously. Does anyone remember the Wigan reserve match at home? I said to my brother ''watch Ranger come on and get one'', and he did within a minute. A complete fluke of a goal! He's also good on the volley, has class control and some pace! Suraj182 0
If he's so good, why did Southampton give him the boot? Not doubting his ability, just wondering. P.S - Give his myspace a look http://www.myspace.com/nilosriver

andy_w_1986 0
I was under the impression that Southampton gave him the boot because when the season ended he helped himself to loads of match and training gear, this coupled with his previous 'wrong doings' was the final straw. Judge rules...boys will be boys.

I don't know nowt about Ranger, but what I remember well is the hype Chopra got when he was banging in the goals for the reserves. He didn't exactly light up the first team. However, having said the above, I just remembered we are now a class below the Prem, so Ranger might just well be good enough for the Championship. I sure as fuck hope he is. andy_w_1986 0
Really? He did an interview a few months back talking about his career so far and the mistakes he had made, ive had a little search but cant find it. He talked about spending time in a YOI for being involved in a robbery and also how his time at Southampton was cut short, think the kit was just meant to be a little gift for his pals. He then spoke about how moving away to Newcastle has sorted his career and life out, came accross well in the interview. Sure someone must ahve a link to it.
