Happy Face 29
Have you seen the table? http://stats.football365.com/intnl/trn/CONMWCQ2010.html Paraguay and Chile in the qualifying spots. Brazil and Argentina not.
Craig 6700
Wasn't it a similar story for the qualifiers for the 2002 tournament? Only for Brazil to go and win it?

ChezGiven 0
The argies had altitude sickness by the looks of it and the Bolivians were on the proverbial marching powder. The 6th goal was a screamer too.

charvski 0
4 teams qualify from this region. this website has it wrong. the 5th placed take a playoff, normally with oceania region, im not sure if it is still with them what with australia moving to asia. it is all confusing. 4 teams deffitnley qualify though. I had a quick check on Fifa's site and the top Oceania team (which will probably always be NZ now) play the 5th Asia qualifier in a playoff. The top Oceania team used to play the 5th South American side.

sammynb 3528
Oceania should have their own qualifying spot if you ask me. Oceania doesn't deserve a qualifying spot, regardless of which countries are in their confederation or not. But the system of their fate being decided by a home and away leg against the 5th South American country was also a crock. The way it should be is Oceania is decided at the same time as the Asian first group stages and then the winner should join the other 9 or 11 depending on how it is sorted, for the Asian 2 group stage for qualifying. That way their fate is decided over 10 or 12 matches, not two.
