I get the feeling Shearer wants the job beyond this season, but the clueless dullards want JFK back.

Got to say I don't know how anyone could have got the impression he was staying after 8 games. He categorically ruled it out several times.

I think he'd been briefed to be very strong on the 8 game mantra - maybe they think this will focus everybody for the task in hand which I agree with. He hinted that the future was "up to those in charge" which I think leaves room for him to stay.

I don't mean this in a nasty way but I hope Kinnear's health gives them an easy way out of what looks on the surface like a very worrying commitment.

There's plenty doubt anyway.

Good interview I thought. Shearer ruling out life beyond 8 eight games, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are all just playing it safe. If NUFC have offered JK an contract beyond this season, Shearer, Lardarse or anyone cannot then talk about Shearer staying on next season can they.

Right now, I'm with Shearer. Lets concentrate on the next 8 games and see what happens then.

In all honesty, regardless of ability; JK would be a fool to come back and take up a full-time managers job because of his health and I don't expect him too. Let things run their course and we'll see where things lie on 24th May.

I honestly got more excited when it became obvious that the relationship Iain and Alan have is a strong one. They seem to be bringing the enthusiasm and positivity back to St James'...

Although he's ruled out the eight games, if we stay up I don't think he'll be able to refuse the clamour and he'll have been bitten by the bug.

I'm so giddy I could puke

Do you not think he was being very cagey regarding many of his answers though. Things like "I hope to be in the stadium next season with Newcastle as a top flight club" and when pressed about his/Joes future saying that would be decided in the summer by other people.

That and the fact hes contracted to the BBC and JFK to us, I don't think he could have said much more than he did tbh..

He got put on the spot twice to rule it out and he didn't.

So what? He's media savvy. Use your loaf man. He's not going to rule anything in or out at this stage because there's no point in doing so. I'm as happy as everyone else but I've seen enough false dawns to realise this may just be another one. I'm not too bothered beyond the next 8 games anyway for now.
