Asprilla 96
Love it when Newcastle get a new boss and it goes in the main news, rather than the sports section like it does for other clubs. That's why Danny hates us. We're a club that matters and always will be. Very nicely put.
Guest alex
Well I'm flabbergasted!!!! Someone on my facebook hinted at this yesterday at noon by the way, but couldnt say anymore. I thought it was an April fool's too. Im so hyper now I cant sleep. I rekon Shearer probably despises Ashley but has put that aside because of his genuine and obvious love for his club. I dont care what Ashley's motives are- we now have a chance, perhaps not of staying up but hopefully of rebuilding the club we all love. Im torn in two really because I've always wanted Shearer in charge but not untill he'd gained some managerial experience elsewhere (preferably at Torquay united ) Im so scared it will go wrong and spoil my dream. Still, something had to be done and BigAl seeing the complete shambles we are in probably felt almost compelled to step in, theres no one I'd rather have in charge. It's make or break this season imo. You can forget about rebuilding in the foreseeable if we don't stay up and I can't see him being here next year, should that happen. And there's a good chance he won't be here next season regardless. I think we've got a fighting chance of staying up now though.

Big Onion 0
Mental. I'm convinced we'll get more points over the next eight games than we would have otherwise, and that's all that matters for now. *Suspends cynicism about Ashley till the end of the season* Wise must be fucking toast as well I hope Shearer brings in Rob Lee, although I just had talkshite on in the car and Brazil said Phil cunting Brown is coming in as assistant (thankfully he's usually wrong). What fucks me off is the brain-dead fuckwits calling into phone-ins calling us delusional Geordies totally losing perspective and expecting us to walk the league. They're fucking clueless man. peasepud 59
I also believe that there is zero chance of both Ashley and Shearer being here next season one will have gone, let's just hope it's Ash. Until then nothing else matters but the next 8 games. It's upto all of us to make the best of them. Altogether now!!!

I can't think of anyone more unlikely, on the face of it, that Shearer might want to bring in. Shearer fucking hates mackems.

Jimbo 175
SSN just had Darren Lewis from The Mirror on, after a few blah blah blah "Newcastle have been shite" comments, he comes out with an absolute pearler: "...and £10m Fabrizio Coloccini has failed to hold down a place" played every single match this season ! I rekon (or maybe more hoping) that whether we stay up or go down, Shearer will by then have been bitten by the challenge of being Toon Boss, I cant see him easily relinguishing the reins to anyone else. He's Mr Determind himself. Once he has his own people around him, if he's able to do that then I cant see him wanting to walk. I wonder if he'll bring Mike Newell in. Big Onion 0
"Mike Ashley would solve a lot of his problems by appointing Alan and accepting that mistakes have been made. Alan could be a priceless get out of jail card. Now is the time to make the club what we all want [it to be]." Lee, who spent ten seasons at Newcastle, admitted he would consider returning to the club alongside Shearer. "Yes I would love to be part of it," he said. (from last November). I'd absolutely love to see Rob Lee come back as Shearer's number two me

I vaguely recollect Howey saying something about him driving 300 miles for a free t-shirt or some such Just a gut feeling I've always had, but I think Lee would be perfect as number two here.
