Kevin Keegan is tactically inept

Says John Salako in an interview for talk Sport cited Kevin Keegan as the worst manager he ever played for.

Salako was signed for Fulham by Keegan in 1998 but their relationship deteriorated soon afterwards. Salako says that Keegan was tactically inept and didn't know how to best use his players.

He also said that Keegan had attempted to sign him for Newcastle at the end of his tenure there.

I have always liked Salako, he seems to be one of those rare "intelligent" footballers.

Also in the same interview he tells how Gazza defecated in his shorts when they played for England together.

An actual Gaza militant went out of his way to do that to his shorts? That's more interesting than any of that Keegan stuff.

Yes, because Keegan was so obviously inept at Fulham. Salako only made 10 appearances there. Much more likely is that he was crap at Fulham (and indeed everywhere, really, but Palace) and so didn't feature, and that he's bitter that Keegan didn't give him any first-team appearances.

By the way, fascinating post in defence of Spurs, Danny.

It's amazing how blinded some people are to Keegan.

It's amazing how much of a total non-starter this 'story' is. There's plenty of negatives about the man, mainly in the 'dealing with pressure' area, but this tactically inept line that's been bandied about the press for more than a decade is just untrue. You know that as well as I do.

These are John Salakos words not mine. I am just passing the info on. Making a contribution, try it.

Could you tell me again how this thread is in defence of Spurs? I think I missed it the first time.

What part of "making a contribution" are you struggling with?

Salako has an axe to grind. KK was all set to bring him up here, it got to the medical I believe, and Salako bottled it, didn't want to move North. I'm pretty sure Keegan let word get out that Salako had fannied out and was a bit of a soft shite.

Special K signed Ginola instead and the rest is history.

If that was the case why bring him to Fulham?
