Kimi could end up at any number of teams. Toyota are obviously after him and there's been mention of Brawn too.

As for Williams' engine - well I've heard a small rumour going round that they could be teaming up with Renault. Now THERE'S a blast from the past.

Renault? Interesting. They won't be able to fork out for a Merc engine, or another top engine, but Renault might be pretty handy, although it may be difficult if they do actually develop a KERS system, as had been rumoured around the time of the Singapore GP. I also wonder what the new teams will be plumping for. Lotus are joining aren't they?

AFAIK, no-one will be running KERS next season - that's not to say it's banned though so they may do so.

Aye there's 4 new teams, US F1, Campos, Manor & Lotus. Strong suggestion from Bernie is that at least one will not make it to the grid but not sure who. All 4 are supposedly using a Cosworth engine.

Cosworth? Lotus? Goodness me, we'll have Ligier powered by Peurgeot and a return of Hart engines next. This coming season is going to be interesting with all the new teams, driver moves etc. Thanks for the info Craig, as I'm so out of the loop.

Oh, and if I was Mr. Whitworth, I'd be tempted to keep with the KERS system.

I hope Cosworth can produce a decent engine, as they ended up the cheapo option with little power last time round. I am a Williams and McLaren fan, and wish the former can one day get back to the glory days of the early 90's.

Without a massively powerful engine, it'll be very difficult for a privateer team like Williams to get back to the very top because they're at such a financial disadvantage. But you never know, they could 'do a Brawn'.

Aren't Cosworth going to have a very competitive engine by virtue of the fact that theres is the only one that will be brand new next year? Every other team is going to be using a hybrid of last seasons due to FIA regulations. Also, isn't KERS off the menu for next season but a must for 2011?

In my John Humble it's either Campos or USF1 who wont make it to the grid next season. Manor have the cash thanks to a deal they've done with Virgin and Lotus have sufficient backing from Proton and the F1 fraternity. I haven't heard enough about Campos GP to be assured they'll be on the grid at Bahrain next March and USF1 has sounded like an attempt at publicity from the off.

The Cosworth thing is very dodgy ground. It's said that the teams that bid to be on the grid for 2010 were told that if they didn't agree an engine deal with Cosworth then their entry wouldn't be considered. Strangely enough the three that got there first off had Cossies as did Lotus when they were allowed in.

I still can't believe Prodrive didn't get in and Lola considered it but then again their last foray was anything but a success.

I want US F1 to get in on account that their driver line-up is supposedly Villeneuve and Danica Patrick. I want that pathetic Canadian twat to be shown up by a woman... and a fucking hot one at that! :)

I've always quite liked Villeneuve in a "If he's not there, just generally being average, the who else can I direct all my hate towards" way. He's an easy figure of fun so I hope he does come back - especially since he now looks like a fully blown nonce.

I haven't heard Patrick mentioned after the initial speculation that followed USF1 announcing they were joining. They've been spending a lot of time grooming Kyle Busch so who knows? Maybe someone like Bourdais filling in for a year until his contract in NASCAR runs down?

EDIT: How dare you call Mastercard Lola anything other than a success :)

Mastercard Lola's success was getting 2 cars to Melbourne. :P

However, nowhere near the levels that Andrea Moda stooped too in 1992. You know all about that one?

Here's my shot at getting Snakey interested in F1... THIS is Danica Patrick :P

Oh I'm interested in F1, Craig. Not as much as I was in the 90's as it seemed to becoming a bit of a prossesion over the las 6-8 years. However, that DP chick could well rekindle some more interest!! :P DP; now where have I heard that before :P

The Andrea Moda story is amazing. http://f1rejects.com/drivers/index.html and http://f1rejects.com/teams/index.html regularly grab my attention for hours at a time, usually late at night when I should be doing more useful things like sleeping.

I really hope Stefan F1 make it, they'd be Moda-tastic. :P

Trulli still thinks Sutil was wrong... :nah:

Trulli, Sutil, resume row two weeks after Brazil

After fiercely arguing trackside at Interlagos and then in the stewards' room, hostilities resumed between Jarno Trulli and Adrian Sutil in the FIA press conference on Thursday.

Two weeks after they clashed at the start of the Brazilian Grand Prix, resulting in a fine for the "aggressive" Italian veteran Trulli, the pair openly rowed for the benefit of the international media at Abu Dhabi's new Yas Marina Circuit.

In the presence of Force India's 26-year-old Sutil as well as Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, Trulli confirmed he had been "extremely furious" with the German's driving.

"I've got all the evidence to show I was there and was next to him, and tomorrow we are going to discuss it," said the Toyota driver, as he waved about photos of the incident and referred to the regular pre-race drivers' briefing.

Sutil said he did not feel at fault for the crash.

"It's not my problem. It's his problem. I don't know why he's freaking out like that to be honest," he said.

Trulli hit back: "I don't know if you're blind, but I can clearly show you my front wing is next to your front wing."

The tit-for-tat exchange continued, with Sutil pointing out the finer points of motor racing to Trulli, a veteran of 218 grands prix, and quipping: "I don't know how long you need to learn this."

Alonso confirmed that driving standards will be discussed "deeply" in Friday's briefing.

I like Trulli, but he's acting like a fucking idiot over this one.

Agreed... Oh to be a fly on the wall in the driver's briefing tomorrow. I bet he's got his own little dossier... :nah:

Who'll be making the tyres in 2011 I wonder? I reckon Michelin will come back, or Goodyear. Can't think of any other tyre companies with the pedigree or the money to develop such specialised tyres. With all the major manufacturers jumping ship, might we also see a slight resergence of the privateer teams such as Williams? And if Mercedes do buy up Brawn, then what will happen with McLaren? Oh, and is that daft gold medal thing coming in next season?

So many questions...........................

Goodyear, Firestone, Dunlop, Continental, Michelin, Pirelli & Avon all have to be contenders.

The more the merrier IMO - with refuelling gone we need another variable in the sport. Also it's got to be good for the tyre firms if there's more than one in on it - it'll promote R&D because of the competititon.

What have Bridgestone got from the last couple of years (since Michelin quit) - all it's done for them is brand promotion, for all the money they've put in they'll have had little development return.
