Guest Stevie
That youtube why is the British song Land of Hope and Glory playing. I don't know enough about Canada to say you're more American than British in values and way of life, but you certainly talk like yanks.

I don't know enough about Canada to say you're more American than British in values and way of life, but you certainly talk like yanks. i would say we're neither like the yanks or the brits. altogether anyway, the yanks think we're socialists ( a dirty word down there ), and you lot think, well apparently, nothing, about us. The effect of american media on canadian values is HUGE, so we share many of the same consumer driven values. thing is we're massive (geographically speaking) so people from the east( sound the most like brits) are different from those in the west, then throw in the quebecers for good measure. TBH we're not really like any one thing, hence the schizo nationalistic sense.
sweetleftpeg 0
The problem with Gorgeous George is that he has a right wing manner when putting across left wing views. He was also blatantly on the fiddle with that oil for food thing. And thinks he's a cat.
snakehips 0
It was Paul Keaton (Keating?) of Australia who 'ushered' the queen in the back on a state visit - slimey dawg (that's Keating, btw - I'm sure he thinks he's the reincarnation of Jack Lang). That dude in the photo (Canada's PM) takes it up the shitter. No ifs, or buts (nay pun intended, though it works well) about it, he likes it up the tradesman's entrance. Papa Lazaru 0
The view that Saddam was a monster the west effectively created is, however, a completely valid one to my mind. I'm by no means an expert but the US et al never had a problem with him while they were supplying him with arms to fight Iran. Funny that. That said, when Galloway visited him it made for a pretty sickening scene. He might as well have given him the Eric Bristow. God i remember that, he was a s close to blowing Saddam as you could get! You need see nothing else than that clip to think the bloke is a complete cunt, but everything else about him just backs it up. There was a class episode of have i got news for you he was on where they showed that clip and ripped the shit out of him for the whole programme, with it being pretty clear that Hislop, Merton and host Dara O'Brian all thought he was a dick. And the less said about the so called serious politician's efforts on big brother the better, i really don't want that image back in my mind! Even if anything he says matches my views i'd be inclined to completely rethink my beliefs rather than share the same opinion as him!
Douggy B 0
I hate extremism in all its forms, including left wing. The thing that gets me is the hypocrisy of the left wingers on here and in other places. If you slate GG, they try and deflect the blame on the US. Then they admit GG is a cunt but they want to defend the right to free speech. These are the same people who are pissing and wailing any time the BNP raises its ugly head. There is a reason why both parties have drifted towards the centre right, its because thats where most normal people are in this country.

Douggy B 0
not at all people were advocating smashing up their houses and terrorising them. Not infringing their rights to spread a bit of bile. Very diffierent imo. As I said in that thread I have no problem reconciling my views. I am never going to be far right am I? Renton 22689
So which is it Danny, ban all people from speaking if they have extreme* right wing or left wing views, or let them all speak? Or just ban the ones you don't happen to like? * I don't see how this can be anything but arbitrary.
