What a fuckin absolute joke. Blatter "we'll play the 2022 WC in January", Al Towalhed the Qatar Prime Minister "no it'll be in June". It just shows further if it needed doing how utterly rotten to the core this thing was. There's been fuck all proper planning, and the Qatari's are dictating what's what to FIFA. That is down to money, no other reason.

I've said this before, either on here or on Newcastle Online.

The sooner England pull out of FIFA, along with all the other major european countries the better.

Then FIFA can continue to award their world cups etc to banana republics and mickey mouse countries, while ignoring the major nations who bring in the money, have the stadiums, the support and most crucially of all, the backing and financial support of the TV companies, who will have the desire to pursue maximum coverage ie pay per view where europe will be the biggest market with all the best players, the best leagues and the major club level international competitions.

What will tip the scales, is when the TV companies demand FIFA to do this, or pull out the money.

Then we will see the FIFA executive squirm, when the major countries of europe along with Brazil and Argentina by special invitation play for the real world cup, leaving the banana republics and the small time pc correct loonies of FIFA to watch their mini world cup comprising of the African and Middle eastern countries that they are obsessed with.

If you replace "FIFA" with "PL" then what you are advocating is a European Super League withe likes of us condemned to the lower divisions for ever

To (mis) quote J V Stalin

"How many divisions has Sep got??."

I think the Prime Minister is the one with the say..................

How fucking dare we complain that the voting was rigged and that FIFA is corrupt when this little chestnut has come to light...

2018 World Cup bid sought Qatar voting deal

England's failed 2018 World Cup bid tried to use the Duke of York's relationship with the Qatari royal family to secure a voting alliance.

Following a freedom of information request, the BBC has learned diplomats and the Football Association worked on a Qatar strategy to help England's bid.

Qatar's own bid for the 2022 tournament event was ultimately successful.

Spain and Portugal were accused of breaking Fifa rules by forming a voting alliance with Qatar.

The emails revealed by this freedom of information request show for the first time the lengths to which England was prepared to go to win backing for its campaign.

Time and again in correspondence from foreign office and embassy officials in Qatar, it was made clear that securing the support of the Emir of Qatar would be crucial to England's chances of success.

A plan was discussed to use the influence of the Royal Family, in particular the Duke of York, to secure a voting alliance between England's 2018 bid and Qatar's own challenge for the 2022 event.

One email said: "The advice from the ambassador in Doha is that, subject to anything that happened at that meeting, we should ask the Duke to be kind enough to speak to the Emir on the phone as soon as is convenient and before 23 April in order to seek his support for the England bid."

It is not known if any meeting or phone call took place.

But in other emails, it was revealed how the Duke of York - the United Kingdom's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment since 2001 - was planning to meet with the Emir's wife Sheika Mozha.

In October, the Emir made a state visit to Britain where it was hoped he would discuss the countries' World Cup bids with the Prince of Wales, though a statement from Clarence House denied that any voting alliance was discussed.

The Duke of York's press office has denied that any lobbying with Qatar was carried out.

The FA has declined to comment on the emails or on its campaign voting strategy, though one source defended the approach saying this was what was needed to try and win.

What this information shows is that while other bids such as Spain and Portugal were investigated by Fifa for voting collusion, England was desperately trying to do its own deals to win the World Cup.

However the tactic was to prove unsuccessful with England gaining only two votes as its bid was eliminated in the first round.

FIFA announce that the WC in 2022 won't be held in June-July. Rather it'll be in December-January. Won't this be a bit of an arse for European leagues... Fucking corrupt cunts, there's nothing this sporting mafia organisation does that surprises me anymore. I just laugh

Corrupt cunts. Would love for the Footballing associations in the key countries to band together and say a grand old Fuck you to

FIFA by forming their own central governing body. Everyone else would follow with those resisting confirming themselves as corrupt.

Yeah, but we both know that's unlikely.

FIFA are still cunts. I think personally if there was no oil money in Russia and they'd somehow been awarded the hosting of the World Cup, then their actions in disobeying the UN by taking and fighting in large parts of Ukraine, would basically get the tournament taken off them.

this tournament wants boycotting.

Only boycott that'd work is on by the players. If Ronaldo, Messi, etc threatened to sack it off, they'd change the shape of the fucking pitch to get them back!

But why would the big players want to boycott the World Cup?

It's going to be a logistical nightmare.

The people calling for the season to be permanently switched to beig played over the summer are forgetting how shit it would be to play the Euro's and World Cup in Winter forever more. It's fine in Qatar, not so good in Western Europe.

the associations would have to pull out. if Europeans did, others would follow as it would devalue the competition

Aye but I can't see them doing that without the support of the players. If Spanish FA said it was boycotting & Ronaldo publicly complained, FIFA win.

i can't see it happening, but this proposal to fuck with the eurpean league seasons, and potentially compromise lucrative deals with broadcasters, is the one thing that gives me hope.
