tinofbeans 91 Posted March 22, 2009 Share Posted March 22, 2009 i've cracked it. everyone should have logo plastered milkfloats containing the same amount of milk at the start of the season. the winners get more loaded on so say 5 crates of milk for a win, and 4 for second place. the winner of the championship is the one with the most milk onboard at the end of the season. The problem with most people who are critical of the sport is that the don't appreciate which championship takes precedence. The driver's championship is secondary and always will be. I know, that's why I said... etc. You know what I mean though. It's a heavily sponsored sport that lives and dies on viewing figures and people turning up to watch, and for the most part - rabid Tifosi members aside - they do it for the skill and the personality cult that is the drivers' championship and not because they have a penchant for a particular team. Thing is, I think the FIA have bought into that theory true which is the basis for the ridiculous change they've made and quickly rescinded. They seem to forget that all they hold is the name of the formula - they hold no jurisdiction on the drivers and teams who enter it and who could walk away into their own formulae (which wouldn't involve them paying astonomical amounts to the FIA) any time they liked. It's always been crooked man - it just used to get masked by the shear brilliance of the drivers and, sadly, an awful lot of talented drivers losing their lives.
