Police treat stab death as murder

A man was found injured inside the house

Detectives investigating the death of a 17-year-old male youth who was stabbed at a house in Nottingham have said they are treating the incident as murder.

Police were called to Heathfield Road, in Old Basford, at about 1400 GMT on Friday after reports of a disturbance.

Tyler Juett was found injured at the property and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre where he later died.

Two men in their early 20s and four male youths were arrested in connection with the incident.

Burglary probe

Detectives have been granted extra time to question a 22-year-old man. A 21-year-old man has been released without charge and one male youth has been bailed.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday revealed Tyler, from the Aspley area, died from a stab wound.

Heathfield Road remains closed while forensic experts continue to examine the scene.

Door-to-door inquiries are being carried out and officers will examine CCTV footage.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said police were keeping on open-mind about events leading up to Mr Juett's death but confirmed burglary was one line of investigation.

A police spokesman said: "In an effort to establish the circumstances which led up to this death, we would ask anyone who was in and around Heathfield Road at 2pm on 13 March to cast their minds back to see if they can remember anyone acting suspiciously."

Depends. Was he carrying a weapon? Did he attempt to attack the homeowner physically? If it's just that this guy broke in and then whoever was in the house stabbed him to death in a petrified frenzy, he'll probably get done for manslaughter.
