peasepud 59
It's been confirmed that former Magpie Alan Suddick passed away in his sleep on Sunday evening, following a lengthy battle against cancer. 64 year-old Suddick had been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in 2008 and was in remission after chemotherapy treatment. However his condition worsened last month, when he was admitted to the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Alan was part of our 1962 FA Youth Cup winning side and netted 43 times in 152 senior games between 1961 & 66. Moving on to Blackpool, he became a great favourite of Tangerines fans and settled in the North West, regularly attending matches at Bloomfield Road until recently. Rob W 0
a highly talented player who never really applied himself - not as good as Gaza but some of the same "anything for a laugh" attitude - but he stayed off the booze I can remember him sneaking up behind a defensive wall and pulling a defenders shorts down (yellow card) and he was one of the main players in the ridiculous "three jump over the ball" idea when he finished up kicking the third player about 10 ft up in the air and missed the ball completely....... but he always put out 100% and was a damn site better than many who have graced the shirt since he left RIP
