Viduka

Newcastle striker Mark Viduka has suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury.

The Australia international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been badly hampered by groin and hamstring injuries this season.

Viduka has made just one Premier League start for the St James' Park side this term and was ruled out of Wednesday's home defeat by Manchester United by his latest setback.

Coach Chris Hughton, who is at the helm while manager Joe Kinnear recovers from heart surgery, is confident the former Middlesbrough and Leeds forward will be back in action soon.

Hughton told the club's official website: "It's just a minor injury which Mark picked up in training.

"It kept him out of the Manchester United game but we don't expect him to be out for too long."

Wednesday's defeat by the Red Devils leaves the Magpies just one point above the relegation zone and facing a battle to preserve their Premier League status.

He's given up for the season him like - no new contract so bollox he can sit on his jacksy and do sod all till the summer

Exactly my thoughts.

Though its annoying that Viduka is injured AGAIN, at least we should have our 2 best strikers playing against Hull....Oba and Owen...lets hope they can strike up a good understanding and get the goals we so badly need.

Seriously if the lot you aren't smart enough to realise he can't be arsed because of the wankers in charge of the club you probably need to take a step back for a moment.

By the way I can tell you his kit was laid out on the bench in the home change room on Wednesday, no not his shirt hanging, so, maybe, just maybe...

Oh fuck it.

You lazy fat aussie cunt!

Plainly his legs are unable to cope anymore with his size and weight. Much like a genetically engineered turkey at Christmas time, which has put on so much weight in anticipation of the chop that its legs can no longer support the rest of its body.

Should have been played when he was 'fit' because this was bound to happen sooner rather than later.

Was going to say exactly that, but you beat me to it!

We al know he isn't at his best all the time and alot of people question his attitude, but on his day he's the most talented player we have and he could have won matches for us if they'd played him, but they went for Shola ambling about up front doing nothing instead and now he's injured again. So when he recovers from this injury they will once again not want to play him until its too late.

The thing is when Owen returns they will pitch him straight back in (which i might add i completely agree with) when he will probably suffer more from lack of match fitness than Viduka who isn't likely to be moving about excessively anyway!

Actually said this 1st when he was played ahead of Shola v Bolton so I'm way ahead of you :superman2sa2: Agree about the Owen point too.

As soon as Owen is fit he has to go straight back in for me. We need every advantage we can muster and his goals could be crucial. I'd play him and Martins - they're maybe not an ideal combo but it's worked well the two or three times they've played together this season. May as well forget Viduka, Shola's shit, Carroll's a kid and Xisco has obviously been written off.

I've been saying it from the second he was declared fit, not even directly before a match! Seriously though, everyone but our management can see you pick these players ahead of the Shola's of the world, and when their legs go you bring on a sub. And instead of Shola i'd be using Carroll anyway (aside from his brief injury spell obviously) as for me he seems pretty neat and tidy in everything he does, uses the ball and brings team mates into the game quite well.

Be interesting for those last home games vs Pompey and Smogs if Owen/Viduka/Martins were all fit for once, i'd go for it!

Seems fucking elementary which is doubly annoying. It's not like we've got loads of players with a touch of class either.
