IF We go down

IF and a big IF we go down I just cant see us bouncing back too quickly.

Our team and wage bill is going to have to be totally revamped. If not I can see us turning into Leeds, Charlton, Forest, Southampton, Weds etc teams that have dropped and dropped because they didnt cut their cloth to suit.

If we dropped into the Championship you cant afford to be paying wages of £15k per week, even for a "big" club like us. Can you see us getting 40k per week in the Championship? Maybe for the first couple of months, but if results dont go our way then that will test the mettle?

face it well loose the following players

Martins

Owen

Duke

Duff

Barton

Jonas

Bassong

Beye

Nolan

Collocini (thank fuck)

Alan Smith (Ditto)

Xisco

All these IMO will be on pretty high wages or will not drop to the lower leagues due to, well, being "too good" for that league. I would even possibley add Ameobi to that, he must be on £20+k a week surley? YET IMO he wouldnt cut the mustard in the Championship, he is a lazy, lazy fucker.

Its shit man, fucking shit, why has it come to this? WHY? The fat fucking prick!

I'm not sure who we would keep (or want to) to be honest.

We would also probably get a steady 40'000 + fans I reckon which would pay high Championship wages.

We'd have a Championship quality side very quickly..... we may have one by next season anyway even if we stay up.

Going down will be a disaster, it may be years before we stop looking on our current position favourably (never mind Europe or CL positions).

I don't know like Tom. I think going down and having Ashley still controlling the club might see a bigger dip in crowds than that.

I suppose you would bet the bastard wouldn't budge on ticket prices either.

I still think we would a solid crowd though.

I'd think it'll be much bigger

30k or under.. let's face it just how much shite can one set of fans take.. and Ashleys really ripped the arse out of it

I think people realise he's just taking the piss. Plus, people go on about how we've seen worse, but the crowds were a canny bit lower then (that was a general trend in football, but still).

I think they would fluctuate quite a lot as ST sales would be way down.

Agreed, 30-35K probably. And less than that for the likes of Plymouth or Blackpool.

Do those who paid for three year up front have a get-out clause if we go down?

Yeh, I suppose the one thing the club has always been able to count on is the fans.

But there is only so much one group of people can take coming from an individual...

Can't see people rushing for the 'special offer' if you buy before the end of May. And re: the 3 years, I paid upfront and I don't think there's any clause as such. They'll just turn around and say 'you got a bargain anyway...no guarantees in football...more games for your money...blah, fucking, blah'.

Having said that, leeds have slipped a division lower and have a pirate in charge and their crowds are still fairly solid.

They charge a fucking load too, however their fans thought they would walk it last year after they had a solid run when they were -15 points down, and then again this year, now their support is getting lower and lower.

Yeah.

But they would have to face the fact there would be quite a few empty seats.

Why have a world class stadium if you can't fill it?

Look down the road at Sunderland's prices - if we went down we may as well do something like that and fill the seats.

Their match day ticket prices are only a quid less than ours! Bates is a cheeky fucker.

If we did go down I see both Barton and Duff staying like.

Two players on 50k+ a week? We'd have to give them away perhaps but there's no way I could see them staying. The board are determined to get rid of the high earners like them as it is.

I can't see Duff, Butt, Geremi, Smith and the like having a future in the Premier League. I could see Xisco staying and I reckon a lot of our youths could do a job in the championship.

Well I dont think we have a choice of keeping them on 20k+ wages per week same for Xisco, how much is he on?

A Mate of mine is a Weds season ticket holder and is very knowledgeble of the lower leagues, he watched Ameobi when he was on loan at Stoke at Hillsbourgh. He said that their young CB, just turned 18 had Ameobi in his pocket all match.

I am fearing and getting ready for the worse, its about time we took the black and white specs of dudes, and don the tin hat on and prepare for war!

The massive positive for me will be seeing the back of the NUFC 'gravy train' mentality. Players coming for massive money knowing in advance that they'll not have to do anything to actually earn it because it's an open secret in football that the club is just an expensive joke anyway. Reminds me of the way the banks have been run at the top level-throwing money at cunts who exercise no professional discipline; and when the shit hits the fan they walk away with their pockets full while the place fucking crumbles behind them.
