We played really really well tonight and if we can carry that attitude and performance into our nest games we can get something from them.

Enrique was awesome tonight, as to was martins but tired near the end.

Well done Geremi too.

Results didnt go our way tho :icon_lol:

GL you've just confirmed that you didn't see the watch, Martins was shite and if he was fat, white and taller could easily been mistaken for Viduka. There are a lot of dumb sports people in the world but Martins doesn't even have instinct.

It's depressing.

Yeah It was Steven Taylor.

Typical Pigeon chest, he's been getting those right all season and he gets it wrong to put us behind.

No it wasn't.

It was Ryan Taylor.

definitely Ryan Taylor.

glad we weren't spanked, glad we didn't pick up any more injuries, couple of players had good games and we looked like we were capable of creating chances. If we can take that performance level into the games that are coming up we might get a few surprising results.

it was definitely Ryan, saw it from the east stand, near where it happened. Just replayed it off motd too. You can also tell because he is wearing a long sleeve layer under a short sleeve shirt. Staylor had bare arms

Headless chicken running with no end result and lets be fair, a gift from the goalie parrying a week shot so 5

Very impressed how quick you were with the reply tho.

Christmas tree, you're a wanker.

Enrique MOTM in my opinion. Bassong was good again, but it was Enrique who shone. Very good on the ball, made one bad cross where he hit it first time when he should have taken a touch, but otherwise was outstanding. Saved our bacon on numerous occassions including one time where Bassong was plainly stood up by a Manchester United forward. His pace came in extremely handy in him getting back to prevent the break away, and his strength on the ball meant that when he did get back he always kept the ball. He was an 8 or 9 IMO. Can't ask for more from a fullback as he also put a couple of very dangerous balls into the box, linking up with Jonas impressively on many occassions.

And then you spout off about how great Enrique was, not Jonas. Hmmmm :icon_lol:

Enrique had a great game, definitely MOM.

The eagerness to blame Steven Taylor for Ryan Taylor's error in this thread :icon_lol:

Taylor (that's Steven) marked Ronaldo tonight, and Ronaldo did sweet fuck all. He'll get no credit for that though.

tbf it was the right back position and we were all watching on fucking shitty feeds and the commentators never pointed out who it was (they on shitty feeds too?) and we've never seen R Taylor make a rick and we've seen S Taylor make fucking thousands, so zero surprise if many thought it was him. Tayls did have a decent game though...keep him away from central defence, if nothing else he's less likely to give away a penalty.

Has Ryan done anything good yet? He put some awful balls in tonight.

Ryan Taylor all round had a complete shocker tonight. He's played pretty well in all of his other matches for us (the massiv amount that that is). In particular his dead ball work was hopeless, where-as it has otherwise been better than anything we've seen for some time.

I sit in the Leazes Corner and from there it really did look like Steven Taylor. It was such a Saylor thing to do though-ridiculous chest backs to the keeper are practically his trademark. Still, harsh that on the rare occasion he didn't cost us the goal (and didn't have a bad night overall) he's getting all the blame.

Can one of you lot send Hughton a load of duct tape so he can tape all of our fullback's arms to their sides?

What are the odds of having so many men with the same dream of becoming assistants on the same team? Someone should buy them each a set of flags for their birthdays.

Seriously though, a better result than expected. Too bad we don't play as well against the weaker teams.

I've also got to point out that anyone, whether it be on here or N-O, who claims Martins is a better fucking player than Owen will get a beating by moi. He's not and he never will be.

You're right, but they're completely different players. Martins uses his pace and power, where-as Owen is a smarter player positioning himself in the right places to score. I'd take Martins athleticism and power with Owen's positioning, first touch and finishing. Neither of their injury records thanks. Even though they're both short they could work well together IMO. Martins troubles defenders when he's on the ball as he can pull a shot off from nothing, from just about any distance. Owen is a better player when he's off the ball, except when he's putting the final touch in for a goal/shot of course.

Pretty much agree with what's been said, Martins is only good when he's on the ball and does very little off it. Owen does track back and does put tackles in and make good runs off the ball. Martins ratio of good chances missed far exceeds Owens.

Todays game was heartbreaking in the sense it was probably the best performence of the season and we didn't get a point because of Raylors faux pas.

Heartbreaking to realize that we can put on a decent performence but just not often enough.

Heartbreaking to realize that such a good performence was done without Beye, Butt, Guthrie, Owen, Viduka, Barton, Duff, and Noble.

I would have been totally heartbroken if Amoeba had started again, did someone finally get the message.
