Guest alex
About as much chance of coming true as Ashley's claim we'd a chance of coming 6th. They must actually believe it as well as I can't see them risking pissing off more potential ST holders with tongue-in-cheek predictions. acrossthepond 896
Speaking of preferring it when he said nothing: Newcastle will not appoint another manager while Joe Kinnear is recovering from major heart surgery. Managing director Derek Llambias said coaches Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood will remain in charge until Kinnear is fit to return to the helm. Llambias stated: "Chris has done a good job, Colin is in there helping us and Joe is still in the background. "We are happy with that situation and that will take us through until the end of the season." Hughton and Calderwood have been in charge since Kinnear, 62, was admitted to hospital ahead of Newcastle's game at West Brom on 7 February. Victory there was followed on Sunday by a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Everton, despite Kevin Nolan's 44th-minute dismissal. Llambias told the Evening Chronicle: "Chris is a thorough football man and a highly respected coach. The players are full of respect for him and Colin." Kinnear was discharged from hospital on Saturday, a little more than a week after undergoing triple bypass surgery. He has been told he will need to rest for about eight weeks before he can consider returning to work. However, Llambias revealed Kinnear is in touch with his coaches by telephone. "I have had to tell him he is meant to be resting," he said. "It's the way Joe is. He has to learn that for two or three weeks he has to calm down and take it easy." Newcastle slipped to 15th place in the Premier League table as a result of Tottenham's 2-1 win at Hull on Monday. from http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ted/7907908.stm Nothing we didn't expect.
