It's a funny city. Where I stayed was nice like, place du jardins or something, but you couldn't get shifted for Turks, was pretty dangerous at the time as it was just after Arsenal/Leeds row with GALATASARAY. Their shopping centres are like 80s versions of Eldon Square, but theres one pub you have togo to 200 years old it is, you can taste the history, it will be in the tourist manual, ask for a glass of kriek, well nice. I always imagined Brussels would be flat, but it's not loads of hills everywhere, and the best bit about it is there's chippies everywhere and even Ladbrokes all over too.

as you go up the hill towards the main art gallery there's a fantastic art deco building on the left that houses a museum of musical instruments - sounds weird but you get a set of headphones and as you wander about you get to hear each one being played - I thought it would be grim but I have to say we spent 2 hours in there - it was really good..............

One thing though, Belgian people are probably the ugliest I've ever seen, uglier than Yorkshire or the dwarf like North West, or even Birmingham.

I was once in Venice airport and there was a flight going to Brussels. You should have seen the state of the passengers. They were dressed so badly I'd assumed they were from the UK.

I stopped around Louise metro stop last May and it seemed canny enough round there from what i can remember.

Brussels itself came across as a bit of a souless place tbh, much preferred Bruges and Antwerp in Belgium.

All round the Gare du Midi is where the Arabic folk knock about - loads of coffee bars round there.

Theres a bar (i forget its name) that serves 500+ beers, it'll be on tripadvisor or something as its quite well known. We couldn't find it like and most bars have a fair menu of beers to plunder through.

Flemish Belgians are canny enough, French Belgians not so much.

I thought they were all alright to be honest, just ugly cunts. The people in Charleroi, were fine, and they had every reason to be offish given we'd just had a riot there 4 days prior. French Belgians had far more about them, and seem more anglicised than proper French cunts.
