peasepud 59
Anyone have to do them as part of their job? Great invention ie saving a dozen people having to travel to somewhere in the middle of the country to have a meeting but how boring and irritating are they? you get someone who just spends half an hour rattling stats off then someone pipes up and says "I missed that one, can you just reitterate point 17c?" As for funny stories, I was on one the other week and someone (they never did own up) decided to go for a call of nature, suffice to say we heard the toilet door open, zip go down, pee hit bowl, zip up, flush and then out the door....dirty bassa never even washed hands! Smooth Operator 10
Phone and video conferencing are a much under used tool where i work. If the tax payer only knew the kind of spending my department alone gets through on travel tickets and accommodation to attend poxy 2 hour meetings that in this day and age could be sorted via the phone/video conference tool. It's not as if we don't have it either, we've got all the mod cons and they rarely get used. For example i was up for a diciplinary last week and had to have a meeting with the person dealing with it, they decided to come up here (from Wales) and asked another member of staff to come to take the minutes (from Leeds). So here we are in the meeting and it lasts all of 20 minutes as i pick holes in the story she's been provided with regaring my lack of pc security in the office, anyway i ask for evidence of me leaving my computer unlocked while not in the office and surprise surprise she hasn't got any. So the meeting is adjourned while she tries to pull together some evidence rather than just go off the say so of the office cunt! Therefore she suggests we reconvene next week, i ask if that means the 2 of them coming up here again from their various places to which she says yes and that's what happens! Only good thing to come out of it is that i get away with it and escape any action that might have been taken cos they have no substancial evidence!
