Glenn Roeder has kept Newcastle up before. Glenn Roeder has premiership experience. Glenn Roeder will not require compensation and would work for a pittance. Glenn Roeder doesn't care about Dennis Wise. Glenn Roeder doesn't make excuses for Glenn Roeder's previous failings when Glenn Roeder was in charge of Glenn Roeder's Newcastle United. Glenn Roeder can teach Jonas the Roeder....uh humm.. i mean the Glenn Roeder shuffle. Glenn Roeder.... Glenn Roeder...... GLENN ROEDER!!!!!! GLENN ROEDER!!!!" OTF 7214
Can this be the last time for that joke now please. Apparently some encouraging news out of the Netherlands, Glenn and the scouting team are interested in a curly-haired Dutch Forward/Winger. The only concern at this stage is that he may not be able to adjust to the pace of the premiership. Roeder added "We're just about ready to consider the option of suggesting to the board that they think about maybe tabling an offer for the lad". Fop 1
...apparently he'd be up for returning to England....I can't think of a better fit than us and him. He's streets ahead of any other candidate but unlikely to get a "top" job. I'd take Sven in a heartbeat (now - which just goes to show how bad things are) - but he'd be mad to come anywhere near us. No budget and no control? He can't operate like that.
shear class! 0
Ashley the fat cunt aint gonna get no one else in TBH. Lets just think about it for a second! IMO he is just going to gamble on hughton and co, he is a fat useless gambleing twat that will just go for broke IMO!
Rob W 0
Sven would be another massive distraction - never out of the papers (especially the News of the Screws)
Big Onion 0
Not long ago Eriksson was a realistic target - in fact I think while Roeder was still in temporary charge he seemed to be touting himself for the job. Not an earthly we'd get him now. We're more Ratner tat than crown jewels these days. Falling fast

Kitman 2204
The sad truth is they won't even be considering the manager's job, they'll be hoping against all common sense that Kinnear can come back and stay for the next 2-3 years giving "stability". Anybody with any sense and vision would be busy searching hard for a replacement with an appointment if not now in the summer. But imo they won't do it until they're forced to and right at the last minute, presumably when Kinnear has another 'episode' and is forced into retirement by his doctors. It's the one area that could make a massive difference and needn't cost them lots of extra money. It would be the most important appointment since Sir Bobby. On current form I expect them to balls this up totally, due to their lack of football experience and nous. Rob W 0
I really hope Joe K does the right thing and retires - two close shaves is pushing your luck and I really don't want him to die on the touchline (now Mad Sir Alex is another thing.....) Cobley? eriksson did shite at city. spent big and had a fucking awful second half of the season. for the amount of money he spent city should have maintained the progress they made in the first half of the season.... and he's not doing too clever with mexico, either. a few games away from the sack apparently.. Guest alex
How did he do a shite job at City btw? What a load of shite people talk man. It was their best season in ages and I'm sure they'd have done even better this season if they'd stuck with him instead of getting Hughes. He'd have been absolutely perfect for them with the Arabs in charge as well, as I've said before.
tooner 243
hasn't Sven already said 'not a chance' to leaving Mexico?? The Mexican FA might have something to say about that. fair enough but they've only played one game in the last stage and the top two go through....i can easily see USA and Mexico being the one to go through although Honduras is hard to beat at home. the FA won't get rid of him unless they don't make South Africa
acrossthepond 866
Sven is a good manager. He did shite at City? What a joke, he bought half their class players and they genuinely looked a side on the up. I've no doubt City fans would rather still have him than Hughes who looks increasingly desperate. Totally agree-came into the season with no time - bought a few players and had them playing some really good stuff - then undermined for the second half of the season when it was obvious they needed to strengthen but still had a good season despite all that - not that there is any point arguing his case as there is no chance of him coming here
