My gfriend and brother work at another consultant engineers, one I started my career out at. At the moment they need to trim staff, I know 90% of the people who work there still as I was there for 12 years. They need to get rid of 3 people in total, 1No in 3 different positions. 1 of the positions my brother and gfriend are both in. My brother is finishing Uni, gets in work on time and is generally a good worker. My gfriend is just starting uni and is the same, gets in on time and gets work done. They both show willingness to learn and get to seminars etc etc. In the office there are 7 contract staff, 4 of which are good, the rest are nothing short of shite. These contract staff are all in the same position as my brother and gfriend. Now, say my gfriend is on £12p/h, the contract people are definatley on more. The 4 who are good are definatly worth their money, good bunch and pretty shit hot at their job. The other contract people, my gfriend and brother usually end up collecting their shite and correcting it. So, what you think? get rid of a couple of contract staff? Nooooooo, they are fucking SAFE?!?!?! Now, another thing that boils my piss. One of the people in the office is less qualified and less experianced as my bfrother and gfriend yet he is on more and at a higher position. He doesnt goto seminars or give up certain free time to learn certain new software etc and he is also fucking safe!!! So, where the fuck do they stand if the directors are shitting on them from a great height? Seems like to me if you work hard you get shit on more fucking does my head in.
