Guest alex
Jesus Christ! I really can't understand people doing that. Of all the things you would take a chance on - a fucking level crossing? Just shows how stupid people are I suppose.

Just shows how stupid people are I suppose. I can't understand how people on foot don't know they are coming, yeah if you're deaf and blind you'd be in trouble but otherwise getting hit by a train is like not noticing the bus whose path you've just stepped into. You could see it happening with a bus though I suppose - you know, a busy street and you step out (it could also be obscured etc.). A train though? How do you miss that coming? I've absolutely no idea, I can see how trams might get someone, but trains I just don't know (that's not to say they can't be quiet, but when they genuinely are they are moving slowly enough that noticing and avoiding them shouldn't be an issue). I don't think it's necessarily a point of them missing the train, I think most of them who are hit (or nearly hit) haven't considered how fast it's actually moving. Stand on a platform in a station an watch a train move through that station without stopping. As it's approaching, it doesn't necessarily appear to be moving that quick but when it passes you, it almost knocks you off your feet.

Maybe, but if someone actually knows a train is coming and still gets hit by it, then Darwin can only hope they hadn't bred yet.
