Kid Dynamite 7312
Can you post the same table for Spurs, Man City, Portsmouth, Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham, Sunderland and every other team behind them in the league? That will prove that it takes more than a big transfer budget to get you where Villa are. Also, of the players I named and said were cheap or from the youth team, which ones are wrong? Tom 14021
Sunderland, Man City and Spurs are the exceptions. However of late we haven't spent anything of note, we are now a selling club. Wake up!
Kid Dynamite 7312
Yeah, we are talking since 2006 according to you. West ham and Pompey wont be far off 90mil in the last 3 seasons The whole point is someone said Villa are where they are cos of a huge transfer budget. My point is its not huge, its on a par with a lot of other teams in the league who are a lot of points behind them. The majority of Villas star permormers this season are either cheap buys from Oneill or players that have come through the ranks and he has got them playing well. So when we were spending 17mil on Owen, 10mil on Boumsong, 9mil on Luque, 10mil on Colocinni and still finished bottom half of the table we are proof that money gets you nowhere without good management

Craig 6700
O'Neill should have come when we plumbed for Roeder on a permanent basis. I might be wrong, but wasn't the stalling point the fact that MON had been out of the game and Freddie worried he might have lost his touch? Fantastic footballing side and a breath a fresh air really in comparison to the top 4. Reminds me in a way of the impact we had in the mid 90s. sammynb 3640
I might be wrong, but wasn't the stalling point the fact that MON had been out of the game and Freddie worried he might have lost his touch? I seem to remember it was fat man's alleged final say on all transfers that fucked us on MON joining us. We really have been a joke for a long time now haven't we? Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Wasn't the story that MON wasn't happy that Shepherd insisted that Shearer sat in on any interview?
Park Life 71
Wasn't the story that MON wasn't happy that Shepherd insisted that Shearer sat in on any interview? Maybe, it was also the scenario with fat sam first time round.
