Guest Stevie
I've heard a few rumours over the last few days that adidas will ditch their 14 year association with the club at the end of next season, with PUMA being mooted as our new kit sponsor. Apparently the kraut firm, are disappointed merchandise sales aren't as strong as they once were, along with the utter circus on and off the pitch for a long time, they no longer wish to be associated with us, and PUMA will take over for 2010/2011. Ketsbaia 0
I don't believe Adidas would ditch us because of a downturn in merch sales, simply because I don't think there has been a significant one. Still, I like Puma so
MattM4 0
Puma's kits aren't too bad.... hate their plastering of the brand logo, they have that puma about 5 times on all tops.

Guest Stevie
Adidas have only really done us one class shirt in the last 14 years, which was the granda collar one. The Asics one was nice as well, and the UMBRO one in my avatar. The thing with adidas, look at their portfolio of teams, they're all bluechip clients, Real Madrid, Ajax, AC Milan, Liverpool, Chelsea, FC Bayern..erm Newcastle, and it's symbolic of our demise that they're ending the relationship. I bet if you look down the last 20 winners of the European Cup more than half would've done it in an adidas shirt.

Greg 6
Loads of shit teams also wear Adidas now mind, Derby County, Macclesfield Town etc so I don't see why they would ditch us. Will just have to wait and see.
NJS 4411
If they do change, I'd be astonished if it wasn't a brand that Ashley owns being the replacement.

David Kelly 1260
I was told a while back from someone who worked for a company that manufactured some of the Addidas shirts that we are one of their biggest sellers so I don't think it's likely that poor sales would be a reason they dropped us. David Kelly 1260
Aye they have produced some pretty wank strips. Particularly the away ones. It's a long time since I've bought a top but that's probably not just because they have been shite.

Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Coincidentally, I was thinking the other day how long we had left on the adidas and NR deals. I would've thought its nailed on that we'll be wearing one of ashleys chav brands next season, Lonsdale, Donnay etc., probably with Sports Direct as the shirt sponsor. Classy.
