Said he had been prepared to bankroll the club to the tune of £20m p.a. rather than ensuring there would be £20m available for transfers every year in any case iirc. I.e. while it may have been a genuine altruistic gesture (I doubt it like) it still wouldn't have meant there was even that much to buy new players.

Aye that's true, he wasn't specific.

I still don't see him as the massive issue more that I see the people he's appointed being the problem.

In short, I think it's plausible that we could turn things around with Ashley at the helm but not if Llambias, Wise or Kinnear remain in place. If you get my drift....

He's doing all right at the moment anyway, £10m squirrelled away this window and the Milner money is still on a beach somewhere sunning itself.

"Totally agree people should show their frustration and the club is being run bady from a first team pov. But he will have been calculating exactly how much to spend or profit with an eye on the bottom line. It is a classic baseline investment approach where growth/profit is extrapulated from within the business and not from returns on outlay."

Did the predictor again 10th.

You got to be having a laugh.Imo the next 3 games will give us an idea of what hope we have,For me we need at least 7pts from the next 3 games 'cos the 4 games after that we will be lucky to pick up 2pts.

Either way the thought of Ameobi leading our front line next season has me in that place between laughing and crying.

I should hope not.I'll sleep easier now.

I just did that prediction thing again and had us finish on 37pts(was harsh and gave us very few wins)but it was still enough to keep us up.Fingers crossed that other teams are shitter than us.

Going down for me.

At home we have been beaten by Hull and Blackburn and only scraped draws against the Mackems, Wigan, West Ham and Stoke as well as only just coming away with the 3 points against West Brom. With the fact that we still have the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea to come to St James Park as well having only won 1 game away from home I just cannot see where the points will come from. Yes there are a couple if winnable home matches towards the end of the season in Fulham and Boro but they are 2 of our last 3 fixtures and I think it could be too little too late by then.

Whilst I still cling on to some hope that having the likes of Martins back will make a big difference to us and we keep saying week in week out that we are facing a must win game, this week we have West Brom. Beat them and maybe I may feel a little more confidence but if we get beat by them and put into the bottom 3 of one of the sides we are looking to finish below us I can't see us having any hope of coming back at all.

Either way I will be there next season. Am I happy giving that fat fuck my money? No. But I will still be there supporting the club...

Doomed.

The more I see the more I worry that relegation looms. I fear that some of the usual relegation fodder will be collectively up for the forthcoming fight more than our badly misfiring bunch. Our form has gone down the shitter. Our manager is an idiot gobshite idiot whose grandstanding before the game on Sunday was butt-clenching in its cringefulness. And the top of the shop seemingly couldn't give a fuck.

What a mess. I'm off to the Irish Centre tomorrow night to see if we keep apathy and squabbling at bay and start to form a Critical Mass. And drink beer.
