Fop 1
Police 'ran away' from jeering Gaza demonstrators By Christopher Leake Last updated at 9:24 AM on 01st February 2009 Video footage posted on a website shows police officers running way from chanting demonstrators who took part in a violent protest in London against Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip. The ten-minute amateur film shows 30 officers being chased by a crowd of up to 3,000 people who broke away from an official protest march last month. The video, posted on YouTube, shows protesters chanting 'Allahu Akbar' (God is Greatest) and 'Fatwa', a death threat under Islamic law. Watch the protesters chase the police... Video grab of riot police retreating from Gaza protesters in London Retreat: Officers 'walk backwards' away from the mob Under the headline Metropolitan Police Humiliated At The Hands Of Muslim Demonstrators In London, protesters are shown shouting: 'Free, Free Palestine.' As they walk past St James's Palace, demonstrators throw traffic cones and stones at the police, who are seen running away from the threat before turning to walk backwards. One demonstrator shouts: 'Run, run, you cowards. Run, you poof. Allahu Akbar.' A female steward attempting to calm down the protesters pleads, 'Back, back' as the crowd advances on the police. But she is ignored as one male protester shouts: 'They're going to get it.' After coming into Piccadilly, near the five-star Ritz Hotel, demonstrators goad police as they draw their batons, screaming 'Free, Free Palestine' once more and a policeman is seen punching a young man in the face. Despite pleas from another officer asking the crowd to 'calm down', the protesters laugh at him and throw more traffic cones. One shouts: 'You swine.' http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/news/article...onstrators.html The best bit is when the police finally do slightly bite back to the things being thrown at them all you can hear is "racist". Kid Dynamite 7029
Cunts the lot of them. Any excuse to cause a bit of bother. i like how the article is headliend to make it sound like the police pussied out. Then they slip in that there were 3000 protestors and 30 police Some rubber bullets to the face would have done the job

Fucking pathetic bastards using the conflict as an excuse to cause bother, fuckers probably don't give a toss about it, place wasn't good enough for them to stay in after all. The've been demonstrating in Mcr the last few weekends-I can see the procession route from my windows. No bother here like, they probably remember the Glasgow Rangers footage from last summer. Smooth Operator 10
There was a pathetic protest in the town on Tthursday night outside m&s, lass on a loudhailer tearing a strip of m&s cos they are supporters of Israel? Only 2 police required who had time to chomp a cheeseburger each such was the non event.

Beaten half to death because people behind them pushed them forward, slightly less "sensitive" policing there mind.

acrossthepond 877
For whatever it's worth - I'm probably wasting my breath here - but "fatwa" isn't, and I quote, "a death threat under Islamic law." It just means "ruling." Either a case of shit journalism or the protesters themselves not knowing what it means, which is pretty sad if true. Imagine a crowd of 3000 chanting "Legal decision!" or "Verdict!" - it's not really filling me with fear. Seems like the kind of thing a bunch of ignorant little punks would get up to, try to make it look like it's "for a cause" whilst really just wanting to start some conflict of their own.
