Guest alex
Who you on about? Man Utd went for it even with ten men. That said, they can't defend particularly well in general this season. Not sure what game you were watching but once Rooney went off they had Nani upfront who touched the ball about twice in the second half. They went to two banks of four and he bought O's Shea on. Giggs and Berb came on way too late. He tried to defend it IMO. What happened to all those young strikers they've got..Van der Sar at fault for the first goal, a striker should never be scoring from that ange with his wrong foot. They played that system because they had 10 men but they still created about 4 decent chances after Rooney went off. I see what you're saying but I his hands were tied really. And tbh, I thought the first goal was a great finish but I thought Carrick should have done better for it.

Happy Face 29
3 nil up in the first half and people complaining Fergie's too defensive Man U had as many shots on target as Bayern and more than twice as many off target despite playing half the game with ten men and (as a result) having only 2 fifths of posession. They were beaten by an incredible goal. Not sure how anyone could think losing Rafael (who'd been mint) and Rooney should not stretch Man U. That goal was scored completley against the run of play. Fergie's tactics were spot on and like you say, that was Van Der Sar's fault.

They didn't like, was a feeble surrender if you ask me. They went in the Munich box no more than twice after the sending off. Even before that they took the foot right off the peddle. You could see exactly what was going to happen well before it did. Giggs and Berbatov should've been straight as soon as Robben scored.

Guest Barrack Road
The result was right anyway, which is the main thing Well personally I was disappointed. We could turn over Bayern on a good night at home, they're not a great side. Lets hope the year England do shit in Europe is the year we finally do well on the International stage. I was delighted myself. No English teams in the last four. Not saying Man Utd shouldn't have won because they're a better side on paper but I think them, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all poor sides in comparison to even their recent selves. Don't know if it's the much vaunted 'reality check' as such given I think only Chelsea really have the lolly to transform their team over the summer (and even they don't spend so freely anymore seemingly). Liverpool are dull as fuck, Man Utd are ordinary without Rooney, Chelsea aren't the side they were and Arsenal play lovely football but still lack the backbone needed imo. Plus, apart from Arsenal I detest them.

Craig 6700
Good chance that after tonight, Fulham could be the sole remaining English side in Europe. Very refreshing, although it brings back memories of 2004 when we were in that position.

Guest Barrack Road
I tell you what it is the games tonight, Fulham 4/1. What a cracking bet. Hertha BSC are absolutely gash, they're so poor their star player was Voronin last season. The other week Hertha who were rock bottom went to Wolfsburg and won 1-4, I reckon Fulham at 4/1 is top value like certainly better than 8/13 for Liverpool. Guest alex
Cheers Stevie. Sounds like it's worth a sly 20 nicker. Especially as its Fulham's no. 1 priority. Hoping Liverpool win like as well as I've backed them to win the competition. Also covered my bet on Newcastle winning the title with £20 on WBA at 16/1 so I can't lose on that one now. Nice Edited April 8, 2010 by alex

Was so obvious in my view, we've even had a blip since then too. I'm looking forward to these games tonight. We've been spoilt rotten this week with the matches on telly, Barca v Arsenal was fantastic, and that first half last night was why we all watch football. On paper I think Liverpool are inferior to Benfica tonight and that's another reason why these games are going to be so interesting this evening. Come on you Super Eagles. If they lose tonight, it's a barren season with no CL next year, surely if you were Torres and Gerrard you'd question yourself in the summer, you'd have to. I dream about a Liverpool implosion like ours, I really would love it.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
"The young boy showed a bit of inexperience but they got him sent off, everyone sprinted towards the referee - typical Germans." He's a fucking hypocrite isn't he?
Monroe Transfer 0
Everyone remembers them chasing refs around in the days of Keane and Stam, but they certainly still do it today. Fletcher loves getting in the ref's face, for one. Not that I agree with any club's (especially us) players harassing officials, but it was a second yellow regardless of the Bayern players. Maybe Ferguson should have checked a replay. And why did Rafael take about 5 minutes to walk off the pitch? Did he forget where the tunnel is? Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
The ref changes his mind, and allows the thieves goal. Commentator: Have you ever an official change his mind like that? Yes, when the thieves beat Roma in the uefa a few years back. He awarded a pen against them, then changed his mind.
