If the media ever removed their tongues from Arsenal's past or previous anus they would realise that Henry was always a grade A cheat so fuck off with the faux surprise.

Having said that if the Irish had scored from that free kick in the last minute of ET from a typical Duff fairy dive they wouldn't have "owned up" or been bothered.

Trafalgar Square was absolutely packed with Algerians tonight, fireworks, blaring trumpets and all. You get the impression beating Egypt is far more important to them than what actually happens at the World Cup... :good:

they want those teams through....

platini probably nodded from the stands

So why wasn't the penalty given? Don't strain yourself too hard there.

So all of the Irish players would have owned up and admitted hand ball? I doubt anybody would admit hand ball at 5 a sides like, i know i would nae.

:good:

Exactly, situation plays out identically if reversed. You try putting your hand up there and then ever moving back to your home country after it.

Keane:

Although angry at Thierry Henry's handball in the move leading to Gallas' goal, Keane was livid over the decision to make France one of the four seeded teams in the playoff draw, whereas Ireland was not seeded.

Keane said Blatter and UEFA president Michel Platini, who is French, would be "texting each other, delighted with the result" now that France is through and that "there's no way in a million years it was going to be a fair draw."

He'll probably get into a lot of trouble over that—but I would have said the same if I was in Keane's shoes.

Henry:

After the match, the Barcelona striker said Swedish referee Martin Hansson was the main culprit for not spotting the infringement.

“I will be honest, it was a handball. But I’m not the ref,” Henry said. “I played it. The ref allowed it. That’s a question you should ask him.”

Fucking hell! Fine ... He's just told everyone that it's not the criminal's fault for committing the crime but the police's for not noticing/catching them.

Moving onto another game ... with Russia now out of the Cup, Gus Hiddink is now free.

I'm interested to see who is the first to be willing to spend the big bucks to hire him for their national/club team.

Henry apparently told the ref he handled it.

Shame we're out, had Keane(2) or Duff taken any of their chances, we'd be through. Or the awful McShane attacked the ball. France were crap.

Meenzer, you mentioned the Algerians going nuts, that's backlash from a game between the 2 sides 20years or more ago. Ageria were beaten by Egypt in a World Cup Qualifier, and the players went nuts, throwing potted plants at press/directors etc. I can't find an article on it though, after a quick search.

Aye, sorry, I should have mentioned I knew that already (it's a fascinating read, mind). It was just interesting to see first-hand just quite how passionate they were about it, even in London, compared with how comparatively calm they'll be when they go out with a whimper in the group stages (proabably).

Just shows how vulnerable our capital city is to them, and the amounts of them here.

Despite of my Irish roots, I'm far from in love with the country or its' people, however I felt sick to the pit of my stomach for them last night, utter cheating bastards. If this was England, Henry would be receiving death threats and there'd be a national clamour to get the game replayed. Total frog mugs. One bright note though, I had France 0 Ireland 1 and Robbie Keane double 60/1 :). Only had £2 on it but better that a kick in the balls. Interesting reading this thread in the difference in sympathies between English people like me, and your presbyterian jocks and we're probably the bigger cunts in Irish eyes. Some even putting a " :good: " . Felt sorriest of all for Given, you could see the injustice in his face after the goal.

France are shite though, no one seems to know where they're playing, Anelka had a good game but I couldn't work out where he was playing, Henry was toothless, and that Gignac is an incarnation of Guivarc'h. Hope we get them in the groups to be honest and stuff them, not that the Irish would support us in that game.

It's one thing to be granted a dodgy decision but to consciously cheat is another thing altogether. Not to sound bitter but I hope they get hammered in every group game and after seeing their last two games they probably will.
