He has already made Ferdinand look silly and be happy that was only a friendly. Where was your best defender of recent years at Ibra’s goal? Every player at Inters backline is clearly better. Samuel being a rich man’s Rio owns Rio every day in the week. Cordoba is harder and a lot faster than Vidic who is just an overhyped Serb and if Materazzi is fit and going he’s levels above everybody at the back. Maicon is light years and years ahead of that joke called Brown btw lol at RB. Santon is already far more talented than Evra ever will be at LB and Chivu and Maxwell can play better there than Evra too who can’t defend to save his life really, although the same can be said about Maxwell, he’s clearly better attackingly. Rio is not near by far the best defender in recent years, lol. Ferdinand while he can be solid can also be easily tricked and has been countless times in Europe and will again this season. Just look at his game against that I think Danish club it was this season in the CL, lol he’s nowhere near the best in Europe. Chiellini owns Vidic this season every day of the week this season and that’s just one defender. Your defense got lucky last season that is all. Chelsea hit the wood how many times in the final? Lyon in Manchester too? Roma missed sitters all night long last year at home & a penalty away from home. An out form Barcelona outplayed you away and at home where Man utd could not do anything else but defend and hope to strike on the counter, you just got lucky. Nobody gives an f.uck that Rio & Vidic look solid against West Brom, Hull, Sunderland, West Ham, Liverpool ect it’s a meaningless sh.i.t talentless long balls league. Your luck & every other EPL teams luck is over this season. Ibrahimovic has scored against the best teams in the world. Spain, Italy, Milan, Roma ect. He has set up countless times against the better teams too. He’s a incredible strong creative genius and will play with Man Utd’s overrated backline in which only Van der Sar is underrated and still quite clearly J.Cesar > Van der Sar. No contest. Inter will walk that tie. Adriano is on crack and an alcoholic yet he will still outshine Shrek, Tevez and Berbatov up front with Ibracadabra assisting him that’s the strongest attack & one of the most creative in the world.

Your typical white flag waver ^^^ Wank league, wank players, wank fans, I hope Man Utd rip them a new arsehole tonight, I'm expecting 0-2 if Fergie lets the reigns off.

Aye Italy had the massive 6 year period out of Europe didn't they where they needed at least half a decade when they were back in before they could recover and become a force. Oh dear. Since 1997 which is when we were largely getting on a level playing field 60 games between English and Italian sides P60 English Won 28 Drew 16 Lost 16 which tells its' own story. Last season 6 games against Italian sides, not ONE goal scored by any of the Italians in those 6 games, which is very much a case of oh dear if you ask me when it comes to comparing their top sides with ours whatever way you look at it. Inter who won about 20 games in a row, swatted like a fly by a mediocre Liverpool side.

Serie A is weak at present like. No doubt about that imo. Still, I can't quite grasp what you get out of Liverpool and Man Utd doing well given how you feel about those places. It means fuck all to me, I'd just as soon see them get knocked out.

I don't know anyone who actually claims Serie A is the best league in the world though. The Premiership as a spectacle isn't that good either iyam. La Liga is my personal favourite to watch.

By a mile. Everytime Villarreal are on it seems to be 4-3 or 4-4.

Just watching the passing and movement in that league is fantastic. Even the teams at the bottom all of players capable of keeping hold of the ball and passing it around.

Well I draw the line with Liverpool, but Manchester United and the rest doing well in Europe can only be good for Newcastle's prospects of getting in to Europe in the future, keeping our co-efficient high.

People say anybody can beat anybody in England, it's not true, there was a 2-4 home defeat to Valencia by a bottom team earlier in the season that would've been the equivalent of Stoke winning 2-4 at Anfield it aint going to happen, likewise with 0-3 and 1-5 home defeats mickey mouse clubs have inflicted on Real Madrid in recent years. Malaga are another side spent £100,000 this season in total 100k and are in the top half fighting hard.

I know it was a derby but Barca got beat as well off Espanyol at the weekend. Two goals from De La Pena, a player who should have achieved so much more in his career.

Malaga have Luque that's why.

People say that but it makes no difference whatsoever at this stage of the competition tbh. It's not like them winning the thing gets England another place, is it? The PL already has the maximum number of places and that's guarenteed for the foreseeable future. Much like NUFC's non-participation in European competition.

At the same time, what it does do is widen the gap (which is all about £s) even further between us and them.

I do think that the Premier League is stronger than Serie A at the moment but Serie is still a very high level of competition, I would put it in the top 3 leagues in the world with the premier league and La Liga.

Here is a good BBC article directly comparing the premier league and Serie A on terms of players, attendances, etc etc.

La Liga is nicest to watch because they play more positively, English teams are too scared to lose to be that keen in winning. A lot of teams wouldn't even think about getting a win from a top four team away from home and they would also urge caution at home. Theres also too many spoilers in the English game.

Who's gonna watch the Big Cup game of Inter vs. Man U?

It starts at 4.30 in the morning over here, so I usually wouldn't bother watching a non-Toon game at such an hour.

However, I think that Mourinho's team has the capability to rip Man U's throat out, chew it, spit it out and then stamp on it.

I want to see someone wipe the smug smile off the prize cunt that is Sir Fergie.

As such, it has become required viewing.

Fergie still is one of those managers I will miss in English football as soon as he's gone - as it was the case with Cloughie or SBR.

The Italians have a high sense of opinion of themselves. They still believe, many of them, that SA is the greatest league in the world. That notion is a complete joke. Arrogant cunts. Tonight I expect Man Utd and Arsenal to piss on these weak nobody teams, and as such I firmly hope they fuck them, cowardly nation of facist, useless, white flag waving cunts, any Italians reading this unlucky.

Italians are pathetic cunts, the lot of them. Work with one of them, what a terrible piece of shite. Thinks he knows everything and wants to impress everybody, really every-bloody-body, whether it's the boss or the cleaning lady. And he hates me as well, I know that. Cunt.

Their league is even less entertaining than the PL is. La Liga is still the most entertaining and less predictable league, but I haven't got too much time to watch it sadly.

I think San Sebastian finished runners-up to Real Madrid three of four years ago and now find themselves in the second league!

Because he's still a great personality. His mind-games and his way of approaching the players are something we will miss in English football. I also fall asleep when Benitez, Wenger or O'Neill are speaking, while I'm always interested in what SA is saying. Call me another British manager at the moment who isn't boring. O'Neill, Moyes etc. - decent managers, but they are bloody bleak.

who are people wanting to win in the inter v manure match?

for once i'm actually wanting manure to win, i like their style of football (bar ronaldo's imature moments, other that that he is a joy to watch when its not against newcastle), but mainly because of the amount of british talent on display tonight.

ronaldo just had a good header saved on the line.

Man U are all over them, Muntari is a heap of shit, totally overated and overpriced.

Commentator just said Inter have only 1 Italian in the team, the left back and apart from that only 1 other European! Well for a start Chivu is Romanian, Zlatan is Swedish and Stankovic is a Yugoslav is he not so there's 3 for a kick off! Usual ITV crap.

2036: "Inter are appalling. Wouldn't want to be in the dressing room with the special one. On the other hand seeing Nelson Rivas playing has given every Sunday league player hopes of playing for Inter. He doesn't even know which side to mark."

second half is geared up to be very interesting, Jose is bound to rattle a few heads and shake things up a little. Inters front two are static, and i'm suprised how easy carrick and fletcher are finding it in the middle.

Like someone said though i could see inter sneeking something if ManUre don't take advantage early in the second half.

feels like an eternity ago that Solano rocked that cross bar!
