There was an interesting debate on 5Live last night re Jose Mourhino. They recon he has fallen out of love with Spanish football and all the pressure from Real and think he will be back in England next season.

Wenger going to Real. Apparently Real Madrid have a love of him and his football.

They're supposed to have funds available to Wenger but I don't think it's the sort of money Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and posibly even Liverpool have available. I actually think that's as much to do with why Wenger is unwilling to spend 'big' as much as it is to do with his philosophy, i.e. he could buy a couple of players but not enough to bridge the gap.

I think that Wenger believes his own hype too much regarding his ability to develop world class players from young. Arsenal have been sorely lacking a leader for a while now.

Also, there was a point made by a pundit at the weekend that Wenger hasn't really changed his backroom team much. Fergie seems to change his assistant every 3/4 years, whereas Wenger has had Pat Rice there since the very beginning.

I like Wenger but one of his problems is he's a stubborn bastard. This can be a real plus to a manager, refusing to listen to fans and sticking to your guns, but I think Wenger can be quite arrogant and dismissive with it. It's almost like he's refusing to buy players because the fans are screaming for him to do it.

They've been hideously unlucky with injuries to full backs but in reality they still haven't replaced Ashley Cole at LB. Gibbs is still a very raw prospect in terms of first team experience and Santos can't defend. Enrique would have been an excellent signing for them (who in retrospect was an idiot to go to Liverpool - a club well on the decline tbh).

Arshavin is a shadow of the player they bought - need to get as big a fee as they can based on his home reputation and get in some proven quality, rather than rely on Wilshere actually returning fit enough to play again this season.

Brilliant run from Welbeck, I've got my hopes up of Sammi Ameobi ending up like him as he reminds me of Welbeck when he first came on the scene.

Probably end up like his brother knowing our luck.
