Skysports.com understands Newcastle United have won the race to sign highly-rated Slovenian youngster Haris Vuckic from NK Domzale. But Newcastle have secured his signature, with Vuckic penning a three-and-a-half-year deal at St James' Park. The capture demonstrates the Magpies' growing policy of scouring and landing up and coming talent. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4803772,00.html Haris Vučkić odhaja v Newcastle Haris Vučkić16-letni član mladinske ekipe NK Domžale Haris Vučkić je danes podpisal pogodbo s članom elitne angleške Premier lige Newcastlom Unitedom. ewerk 31238
But he seems to be doing a good job on the scouting side. Just because we're signing these young foreign players doesn't necessarily mean they're any good and will make the step up to the first team. wellsy 0
The lowdown on Andras Gosztonyi – on trial at Newcastle / Transfer gossip 19/01/2009 According to reports in The Times and on Sky Sports, Newcastle have taken highly-rated Hungarian winger Andras Gosztonyi on trial. The 18-year-old winger will be at St James’ Park for a week as Joe Kinnear looks to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window. The right-sided player is believed to be worth around 200,000 euros and he can also play as an attacking midfielder through the center or on the left. Gosztonyi is a part of the Hungarian Under-19 squad. According to IMScouting, he is a "consistent electric and offensive winger that can play on both the right and left side, he is right-footed, so he prefers the right wing. He helps a lot defensively, falls back and constantly runs up and down." IMScouting’s network of scouts in Hungary add that Gosztonyi "likes to attack and face up to defenders without losing time. A very dynamic player, nevertheless he needs to gain more experience. Has very good technical ability and many skills." Apparently another kid... http://www.imscouting.com/global_news_item.aspx?id=1116
