Park Life 71
Thank fuck for that. The bloke next to me can't make his jokes anymore - he calls Geremi "The Cuprinol Man" cos he reckons he's got wooden legs. Whenever he goes down injured he shouts "Bring on the plane to fix his legs!". And on the rare occasion that Geremi tackles someone and they go down he shouts "Splinter! He's give him a fucking splinter!". Oh and whenever he's out injured, he's got woodworm.

ewerk 31237
Newcastle midfielder Geremi in stay pleaJan 17 2009 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle NEWCASTLE United’s unsettled midfielder Geremi has revealed he could yet have a future at St James’s Park. Besiktas had been in talks with the player’s agent this week and United are prepared to let one of their highest earners leave during the January transfer window in order to free up funds for their wage kitty. However, the Turks appear to have cooled their interest in the former Real Madrid and Chelsea man in the last 48 hours, leaving the African in limbo. And although sources close to the player told the Chronicle there are two other European sides interested in signing the Cameroon international – and the fact his exit will save United almost £4m in wages with 18 months of his contract left to run – Geremi has insisted he will tough it out on Tyneside if he has to. Geremi, who has not been a regular under Joe Kinnear, told the Chronicle: “I only know what I read in the newspapers and what I hear from my friends who have been calling me and asking what is happening. “I have been linked with a few clubs, but I would say my future is here. “Newcastle have not told me I am not wanted. “What I know is that I want to play for Newcastle. I said when I signed that I wanted to complete my three years. “When you are in football, you know what you want. I have no intention to move. “I love the Premier League. I also like the Turkish league, but it is totally different. “But you can never say never. If the club say they don’t want me, then I would have to think about my future.” Meanwhile, it has emerged that United withdrew a transfer offer, which was initially accepted, for Espanyol and former Liverpool defender Steve Finnan. The player has been suffering from a long-term thigh injury which has also put off Hull City, who were keen on signing the Republic of Ireland international. Hull boss Phil Brown said: “Steve has been injured and I think he has only played four games for Espanyol, which is a concern of ours, hence the reason he has undergone a medical to the extent he has.” JOEY BARTON trained for the first time with his team-mates yesterday following the knee injury sustained in the 2-2 draw with Wigan in November. The Chronicle revealed last Saturday that Barton and Alan Smith, who is now running again after a long-term Achilles problem, were hoping to make a first-team comeback later this month. Guest alex
I would imagine he's staying because they can't match his wages.
