Talking apart an external harddrive

One of my external mybooks has failed on me - so ive took the enclosure apart and managerd to dismantle and unscrew the internals to get access to the drive itself which ive installed as an internal in my pc case that my bios has detected and the drive runs as normal. (it appears to be something on the enclosure thats failed, not the drive itself).

In case this happens to anyone else - the mybooks have a hidden screw that helps keep the enclosure closed. took me FUCKING AGES to realise - the SNEAKY BASTARDS! :icon_lol:

You can see in the 1st picture that theres a recessed circle to the top left. there was also an identical one to the top right but upon closer inspection it looked slightly different. this was because it was the screw that had been painted over to match the other recessed circle. so i had the scrape the paint off to get at the screw.
