Scottish Mag 3
Darren Bent is reportedly hoping for a move to Newcastle or Everton with his Tottenham days numbered after manager Harry Redknapp splashed out £15.75 million to lure 'love rival' Jermain Defoe. According to a report in The Mirror, Redknapp is willing to listen to offers for the misfit striker with Bent said to be keen to resurrect his career in the north of England. Despite Defoe singing Bent's praises upon his return to Spurs, it is said the pair do not see eye-to-eye fuelled by several disagreements during the former Portsmouth striker's first stint at White Hart Lane and namely Bent's failure to land a date with Defoe's ex-girlfirend, reality TV star Chantelle Houghton. Furthermore, it is understood Bent's relationship with several team-mates has seriously deteriorated following a dressing-room incident last year after club captain Ledley King had returned from treatment on his troublesome knee in America. The £16.5million signing has struggled to make a desirable impact at the club since his then club record 2007 summer switch across the capital scoring 20 goals in 57 appearances. Although the 24-year-old was Tottenham's only source of goals at the beginning of the season, with 12 goals to his name in all competitions, his last strike came against Watford in the Carling Cup five games ago. Indeed, the recent fine form of Russian frontman Roman Pavlyuchenko has seen Bent once again slip down the Spurs pecking order with Defoe's arrival set to limit his first team opportunities further. However Defoe attempted to play down reports of an ongoing rift between the pair and praised Bent's qualities in front of goal. 'I've always said even when he was at Ipswich Darren Bent was a great player and he's shown that by scoring a lot of goals,' insisted Defoe. 'I don't think about being the main man I just want to come in and help the club push on up the table all great players here.'
Gemmill 47138
We could do a lot worse. Too expensive though I suspect.
Tooj 17
That would mean actually outlaying big money on the first team so we can rule that one out.

peasepud 59
Can we afford him? No. Does he currently play for Rangers? No. Will we sign him? No. To be fair, its a bit like N'Zog saying he wants to go to Arsenal, it wont happen but for different reasons, they dont want Zog, we cant afford and wont buy Bent. peasepud 59
Sorry but FUCKING COBBLERS. As if he'd come out and say he wants to come to our clusterfuck? Exactly, you've got to worry about the mental health of anyone who would come out and say they want to play for us currently.
Kid Dynamite 7318
With Martins and Bent as our front 2 id happily tell owen to fuck off right now and hawk him to the highest bidder to finance the deal. Along with Nzogbia, Barton, Smith, Xisco, Taylor and Enrique. We must be able to make £20odd million off that lot. Bent, Bullard, Riise and a couple of others would do nicely
