snakehips 0
I was having a discussion with two drunkards on Sunday (Meenz and Alex) (I was stone cold sober, btw, being a good Methodist) and we were discussing the 12 point deduction for Football League teams going in administration. Does anyone know if this applies to Prem teams also ????

Does anyone know if this applies to Prem teams also ???? who is going into administration ? Man U ? At the time of the discussion, we were (or I had mentioned) discussing Portsmouth. Isn't it common knowledge that they are in a perilous state? Today's news had a report that Wist Ham would be going into administration if a buyer can't be found in two months. At least half the premiership are treading thin ice though in this respect.
ImpossiblyDaft 1
I can imagine it will be the same. I thought it was 15 points anyway? Football League rules are -10pts for going into Administration and -5pts for failing to leave administration via CVA, which always get rejected after the tax man got pissed off with Leeds' initial offer and made it policy to reject them all even if in a few cases its been cutting off their nose to spite their face, because league rules that football debts come first screwed them over in the past. The League's response is to put their fingers in their ears, unfortunately.
snakehips 0
Slip of the tongue by Gareth Southgate after today's game when talking about transfers and homegrown players: "..we're not the only club with a massive debt." Maybe, just maybe, Ashley is playing things as they should be?? (which is painfully hard to bear for us)

And would we have been if your mate fat Fred was still here?

(which is painfully hard to bear for us) If ashley had come in and told us that had to balance the books by selling players but we have a long term plan and it is ......... everybody would've got on board. The reason its such a shambles is nobody has a clue what they are doing or why
peasepud 59
We still have this debt though and to me its a more worrying bank than the ones we had before. We now owe Ashley this money, in the past we paid some interest and chipped a bit off the debt now we are in the position where if the "bank" loses a few million at the casino the day before then we may lose a striker or two to finance it. The debt has been turned into equity which is part of the sale price, we didn't chip off the debt either as we made a loss of £62 million since floating on the stock market. As far as I'm aware Ashley hasn't sold anyone to pay for a night out at the casino either unlike the previous shareholders who took out £35 million from the club in dividends and selling shares back.
