Niall Quinn Rick Rolls The Sunderland Fans

I get the feeling he'll be their Roeder. Great in the short term after the players are coming off the back of a ball breaking management style but doesn't have the nous, name or talent to pull them around when it all goes a bit Pete Tong.

“We had some top-class quality in terms of the people that applied. Some of the CVs are breathtaking."

:)

Isn't that almost exactly what Freddy said when we appointed Roeder?

Oh Dear, Niall.

Exactly. Quinn the hero was caught in the headlights (just like Shepherd). Due to the results, Quinn had virtually no alternative but to give sicky raggiarse the job.

I must admit though I'm quite surprised by this, especially as Quinn was talking about all of the big names who were after the job. Even someone proven like Allardyce was scoffed at, the whole scenario reminds me of when Roeder got our job, only he was caretaker for three months and not four games. Although he may now have a manager who will treat him with some respect. Although I can't see him getting anywhere near the same backing as what Keane got.

Also promoting someone within barely seems to work these days, look at Adams, Sammy Lee. So it is quite a big gamble that is for certain. Then again a lot of our lot are laughing at this, but I know they Sunderland fans will be doing exactly the same when we appoint Kinnear on a longer contract in the summer.

At least Kinnear had some previous, Sbragia has none.

Kinnear has at least proved to people he isn't the joke he was made out to be.

Kinnear's made some absolutely clueless decisions at times this season, absolutely clueless.

Yet we have lost two in ten and have scored in more premier league games than any other club.

He's been bad at times but he can motivate the players and he has made us hard to beat.

I wouldn't want him full time but I would say he has done well.

He's done better than Hughton, although that wasn't hard.
