Besty 4
Leeds United have today relieved Gary McAllister of his position as first team manager. The board took the decision following the recent poor run of results that has seen the club slip to ninth in League One, 15 points behind the leaders and five points outside the play-offs. The decision was made to ensure that the new manager, when appointed, has the maximum number of games possible to move the club up the table and also before the transfer window opens in January to allow him to identify any new players he thinks can strengthen the current squad. The club would like to place on record its thanks for the loyal service given to Leeds United by Gary since joining the club as manager in January 2008 and wish him every success in the future. The club will make no further comment on a replacement until we are in a position to make an appointment, which we are committed to doing as quickly as possible. http://www.leedsunited.com/page/LatestNews...1495600,00.html
Craig 6707
Fools IMO... Good young manager and better than anyone else they could wish to attract. That said, Gary Speed has obviously got connections - wonder if he'd consider teaming up with Shearer?

Had the fans turned on him or was it lack of patience from the board?

Tooj 17
I've always liked Gary McAllister ever since he was a player. And a very underrated one he was at that. Obviously felt sorry for him as well for what he went through with his wife.

Besty 4
Grayson appointed Leeds manager Leeds United have appointed Simon Grayson as their new manager, the club have confirmed. The 39-year-old leaves his post as Blackpool boss to take over the League One side, who sacked Gary McAllister on Sunday after five successive defeats. Blackpool had initially refused Leeds permission to speak to the former Aston Villa defender on Monday. Grayson, who started his career as a Leeds trainee, guided Blackpool to promotion to the Championship in 2007. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7796182.stm
