Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
My prehistoric Nokia 8310 is finally starting to give up so I need a new phone. I'm currently on Virgin pay & go and putting about £15 a month on it. I want to pay as little as possible for a new phone so I have been looking at contracts. O2 do the Samsung D500 free on a 12 month contract with 50 minutes and 200 texts (enough for me) for £19.00 a month. Seems like a reasonable deal and its only four quid a month more than what I'm paying now. What I need to know is how reliable are the D500's (I'll be keeping it as long as possible) and how easy are they to use (bearing in mind I've always had Nokias in the past I presume a new menu system will take a bit of getting used to). I'll be using it mostly for texts so I'm not that bothered about the quality of the camera, ringtones etc.
Tooj 17
was going to get one meself mate when my contract recently expired... but just forked out 30 quid to get one of those new Sony Ericsson W800i.... but this may help you out http://www.mobile-review.com/review/samsung-d500-en.shtml
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
That's certainly a thorough review! Is yours the new Walkman phone? I can see the point of those as you can use them as your phone, your mp3 player and your digital camera. Too much technology (and cost) for me though. My friend has the Sony Ericsson V600i. I wasn't keen on the little joystick thing.
MattM4 0
Had one since July, I cannot praise it enough. All i've ever had are Samsung mobiles though, but the D500 is class. That's all I can say really. It was ahead of its time I guess when it first came out, but is now coming into its own with the Bluetooth connectivity for example and other features. Jusoda Kid 1
The samsung d500 is a decent phone and very easy to use. The battery life isn't great but it's ok. Would have thought you'd get a better deal than that though for £20 a month.

Smooth Operator 10
I've got a D500, very happy with it, 18 month contract first 6 months half price, shop around you should get a decent deal cos the D500 is classed one of the older models in the market now with the D600 no the scene. Shearergol 0
I've got the D500 and the SE750i Not sure which I prefer, but can't fault either. Battery life is probably better on the Sony, and it has a nice radio etc, but I use the samsung more often (mainly because of the general feel and look of the phone)
Jusoda Kid 1
I've got the Sony/erricson k750i Not a bad phone but it seems to drop it's reception quite a bit and it's bulky but the camera and other features piss on everything I've had including the D500. Saying that it will be getting replaced in Jan with Samsung D600.

Renton 21627
Can anyone recommend a good clamshell style phone? My Z600 is getting a bit old now, although its been a great phone. Trouble is, I don't like these "candystick" phones much, which seem to account for most the ones available.
