(Sunday Express) Wenger wants to re-sign West Ham and England defender Matthew Upson, 29, in January as a replacement for Gallas. Fop 1
Newcastle striker Michael Owen is willing to take a pay cut in order to leave St James' Park in January. (Sunday Express) That bodes massively badly for the entire team, not just Owen, if it's true.
Guest alex
It's a non-story imo anyway. If someone were to offer Owen 60k a week, for example, on a 3 year deal, that's going to more attractive 100k a week (or whatever) for the last 6 months of his contract. Especially if it's 1) From a top side looking for player who isn't cup-tied for Europe and 2) He doesn't think he'll get a better deal here in the summer.
