Dr Gloom 22142
credit where it's due. his performance midweek took all the attention away from the players and they looked a different team today. i can't remember the last time we battled down from two goals down to get a result and we should have won the game in the end - i don't remember given having a save to make second half. nice time for the international break to come along. I made a post on skunkers and howaythetoon saying that we should give him a chance to get some spirit and motivation into the club, and he might just do the job. I think the press conference was possibly meant to be a deliberate ploy and promote a siege mentality, but if its what they need, so be it. He might only be here for a while, but if he does a good job, than good. Its the bigger issue over ownership that needs sorting out. Good luck to the bloke, I think that he's giving this a good crack.

I really can't remember, but there are lots more people than me are using hindsight for a far longer and more consistent period on NO. What you should try and also understand, is that sometimes if you are responding to a fuckwit, like thickmick, it isn't so easy as making an intelligent and reasoned response to someone with half a brain. Not that I'm saying you only have half a brain or owt - but I find your defense of Ashley a bit odd to say the least. FWIW, I'll say my piece now. The fact that Ashley has fucked up big style, and his system is dragging us down to the 2nd division, where the Halls and Shepherd found the club, will I'm sure go completely unnoticed by those who choose to totally ignore facts and have no understanding of how the club was pre-1992 and also have no interest in listening to people who were. Nowt knew there then not even hindsight. Which shows their own particularly lack of brains. Their problem. I think - after one game - that he just might rediscover some sort of spirit among this club, he's experienced, and he's done this sort of attitude before. So you never know. I think it would be more accident than design though but as a supporter of the club, all I want is for him to do a good job, the ownership be settled with someone taking over who has footballing intelligence, and if Kinnear is replaced, is replaced with someone who is taking over the team from a position whereby premiership safety is possible and accomplished. No thanks to Ashley and his band though. The sooner they fuck off the better. Edited October 5, 2008 by LeazesMag

As a short term appointment I was prepared to give it a chance regardless of who was the owner because I thought in a short term he could do a job of galvanising a demoralised squad. I was just surprised that you are now telling everyone here (in hindsight) how it might work, after mocking me on Newcastle Online for suggesting the same thing? Fucking hell do you actually watch our matches? Ameobi's mazy run, where he trips over the ball, drags it forward with his right leg, tries to shoot with his left only it's so bad it ends up being a spinning pass to N'Zogbia, that's mazy run? On the TV coverage here yesterday Mark Bosnich was one of the pundits and interestingly enough when quizzed about what his good mate Mark Viduka thinks about this, he said he's had a conversation or two with the fat lad but he's unable to talk about it, except the feeling amoung the players is Kinnear's main job is to deflect the media coverage away from his bosses. Also during a discussion about if KK bares any responsibility for the current situation by walking when he did, Bosnich alluded to the fact some other things happened at the club that Keegler's not allowed to disclose. Lastly it appears Viduka's in Australia on the "notion" he's having treatment on his achillies but reading between the lines don't be surprised if he doesn't play for us again! Especially while the current board are in charge!

Happy Face 29
Kinnear's main job is to deflect the media coverage away from his bosses. That strikes a chord. The Keegan/shearer comment, swearing on football focus, the rant, boycotting the press, then not, hoying his phone, breaking his touchline ban, getting escorted away by Plod, Gerry bloody Francis.... And he's only had a week. He can't have walked into all those with the best of intentions. God knows what else he'll manage in the next 4 or 5 weeks. I think he's quality btw.
