Scottish Mag 3
David O'Leary has told Sky Sports News he would consider taking up the vacant managerial role at Newcastle United if he was approached by the club. The Tyneside outfit have been without a boss since Kevin Keegan parted company with the Premier League club at the beginning of September. Chris Hughton has been placed in caretaker charge of the side, but this week Terry Venables emerged as a potential candidate for the position on a short-term basis. However, ex-England boss Venables has ruled himself out of the running due to the uncertainty surrounding the ownership at St James' Park. Glenn Hoddle has also been touted as a potential interim successor to Keegan, but he has yet to voice his stance on the matter. Former Leeds United and Aston Villa manager O'Leary, though, has intimated that he would look into taking such an opportunity. But O'Leary, who has been out of management since he left Villa in 2006, confirmed that he has yet to receive a formal offer from the club. TheMoog 0
David O'Dreary... just when you thought it couldn't get worse than Terry Vegetables. Whoever comes in needs to be accepting a match to match contract, anything more and it'll just get annoying when the new owners come in and want their own man in charge, be it Kev or whoever. Ho hum...
trophyshy 7095
They should just say fuck it and go for Gordon Ramsay, that count'll sort them out. Make a PPV documentary out of it. Ant and Dec can do the links. Pies might improve too. Edited September 26, 2008 by trophyshy
GeordieMessiah 2
Had George Graham been asked yet? What about Big Ron Atkinson? Lawrie Sanchez? Vinnie Jones? What about Warren Barton? Graham Taylor? Peter Reid? Jim Smith? Keep on scraping the barrel, Dennis...you'll get someone sooner or later.
Happy Face 29
It's ridiculous. Chris Hughton isn't the problem, the problem is the players aren't fussed about playing for a man who's only there short term. Even Fergie had the problem when he announced his retirement. Robson had it when he was winding down. Just leave it with Hughton and concentrate on selling up tbh.

GeordieMessiah 2
Monkeyheid could be a good choice for us, since we're destined for relegation anyway...so we may as well increase the mackems' mirth and merriment at our expense.
Monroe Transfer 0
Please no. Oh, please no. I'll join all the major religions and pray like my life depended on it to keep that man away from this football club.

Aye that's the problem, I think Ashley is quite willing to gamble on a massive profit vs. being stuck with a relegated club.
