MattM4 0
I'm having a real hard time getting some perspective on all of this. Yes the club as an organisation is a farce etc etc... but putting that aside I'm trying to figure whether doomsday is really around the corner this season. I'm trying to compare it with the following recent situations: - February 2006, going nowhere under Souness, 2 points above the drop zone, the only time I've been close to panicking about getting relegated - October 2006, shambolic start to the "Roeder Era" counting the games and possible points as early as that. - December 2007, Allardyce just making us a complete pushovers on the pitch Situation never got totally desperate. As we always managed to pick up. Is it possible this time around also? .. god the last few seasons have been so pointless. Same pattern on repeat, panic and scramble. Ketsbaia 0
Those times there were sides who were performing worse than us. At the minute there isn't.
Craig 6700
I think the commentator summed it up when he said we're a rudderless ship at the moment. Back then we at least had someone at the helm. The other factor is, I doubt anyone(*) really wants the gig with the current setup. * - realistic

He may not have the managerial skills but apart from Keegan I think Shearer is probably the only one who has the charisma to rekindle the spark of hope that Keegan gave us and get us out of this mire we are sinking deeper in. The fact that Ashley has put the Club on the market is tatamount to an admission he screwed up big-time and being the business man he is he is likely to sell Wise down the river just like he did Keegan.. The only thing Ashley has to bargain for now is the price he'll sell the Club for.
wykikitoon 21471
If we get took over and If we get rid of Wise, Shearer IMO is the only man for the job. Who else can you realistically taking over? Now there is a lot of ifs there I know. Plus, IMO we should of given Fat Sam longer IMO.

Happy Face 29
The players are looking indentical to when SA was at the helm I;m not half as sick at the football on the pitch as I was then. It'll take a few more games to take us back to the stomach turning lows of some of those performances.
Jackies the Lad 0
What really pisses me off is what is not going on, on the pitch. We were shite last night. These guys earn in a month more than most of us earn in a year. They are really well paid for doing very little and all we expect in return is a good performance and a desire to win from every player that puts on a B&W shirt. Now tell me that is the case, I am sure as hell don't see it, they get upset at what is going on at the club etc. Get real fellas, get motivated and earn your crust. Overpaid bunch of t#*ts that really don't give a shit. In my job if something upsets me or there is something going on that causes me to feel pissed off I have to get on with it, and make sure that I earn a crust. I have to work as part of a team and I don't want to let my colleagues down by putting in a poor performance. The more we work together the more profitable we are. That surely is the hub of the problem at NUFC, No Team Work - from the top of the club to the bottom, and when the going got tough they all bailed out. How many players will bail in January - even with new owners?
MattM4 0
It'll take a few more games to take us back to the stomach turning lows of some of those performances. Last night's result was rather irrelevant tbh. Cliché, but concentrate on the league and all that. More home defeats in the league though would start to be catastrophic. How many players will bail in January - even with new owners? It's the plague of modern football, and it's fucking horrendous to have to watch and bankroll. Outsiders might think the malaise among certain sections of our fanbase is due solely to the current situation, but it's simply the straw that broke the camel's back - any decent football fan should have the same feelings of deep unease as described above.
