ohhh_yeah 2991
Billionaire Ashley was prepared to offer the former England manager £100,000 a game to take charge and guide the club through this turbulent period. But Venables, 65, turned the offer down. He insisted money was not the reason, saying he wanted a longterm contract and guarantees he would remain manager if Ashley manages to sell Newcastle. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...e.html?ITO=1490
peasepud 59
I'll tell you what hes gone right up in my estimations following that while the directors have dropped even further down (if that was possible). A number of senior players had told them that they needed to end the uncertainty as quickly as possible and they immediately moved into action to do that. Fuck me yet again the Newcastle Directors show their understanding and commitment to the cause. It took a number of players to tell them we needed a manager before they "immediately moved into action"
Isegrim 9909
If they were prepared to give Venables full control of everything and don't think they will stick around much longer they can give the job back to Keegan themselves tbh. Would seem the obvious thing unless either KK has told them to stick it, or they want to save face (bit late like)

Fop 1
His last crack of the whip maybe. Although again it's another "friend of Wise" that doesn't want the job.
