Walliver 0
I've decided I might fancy one of them. What's the best idea? I've heard that from tomorrow they're all coming down in price (60gb harddrive + wireless controller + crappy game for £160/£169.99) and I'm quite tempted by that but I'm half thinking of going for a second hand console but I'm put off by the rumours that they crash all the time and that someone might try and scam me. If I do get one, what games should I go for? Pro Ev over Fifa is a given.

Xbox live costs £, The pads are horrible. I won't go into game selection because I rarely get past GTA, a driver, a shoot em up and Pro Evo. I find the PS3 better graphically also. Ketsbaia 0
Aye. The new FIFA's 10v10 online mode could well see most fans of football sims plumping for them instead of PES, especially since EA have actually worked on the gameplay aspect over the past few years whereas Konami have just dicked around with the graphics. The Fish 10972
360 is the pups nuts to be honest. Sonyphiles wank over the PS3 but I've yet to see any reason to go for it above the Xbox 360. I think there might be more games out for the Microsoft console too. XBox live does cost but it's a nominal fee. CoD4 is amazing

Acid 0
Cod and Gears are beast on Xbox Live. Oblivion's mint and FallOut3 is a must. PS3's online is meant to be awful, however they are releasing some Cyberworld thing called 'Home', 360's getting a Xbox Live overhaul in the coming months too. Btw: Fifa09 >>> Pro9 easily. Be a Pro can't be beaten. Edited September 17, 2008 by ChriszyD

They haven't untapped all of this so called extra power as of yet, which was my original point. Your point is mute as they aren't using it yet. When the PS3 was first released a trailer for Killzone 2 arrived and it looked amazing and supposedly was in-game graphics. Bollocks now though. Tooj 17
The best thing for me having a PS3 at the moment is the ability to connect your external HD to it and play HD films through that method.
Jimbo 175
Can't really comment on which is better out of the two, I've got a PS3 and I'm delighted with it, the Playstation Network is fantastic and is free unlike Xbox live, wirelessly enabled and wireless controllers as standard and the Blueray drive make it worth the investment over the 360 in my opinion. They play smoother and they are more developed. You don't have to fall on your Sword over your 360 by the way I am honestly not that bothered.
