Tom 14013
I wouldn't want him and he wouldn't take the job - plus I can't see why Ashley - who appears to be doing things on a low budget - would buy out a full contract...
TheMoog 0
It's all a bit mental at the moment, I mean we're being linked with Ince, Wise, O'Leary and Gus Poyet... I mean it doesn't exactly make you think that Fat Cunt's trying to make amens on fucking up with Keegan does it - it's more like he's going out of his way to annoy everyone as much as possible and destroy the club from within. Matty 0
Some more brilliant, ground breaking journalism from you know who by the way! Newcastle United eye move for Paul Ince Sep 10 2008 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle Paul Ince FORMER England international Paul Ince has emerged as a surprise contender to replace Kevin Keegan as manager of Newcastle United. Ince has a long-standing friendship with Toon’s director of football Dennis Wise – something which was cemented by their time together with Swindon Town in 2006. Ince has just joined Blackburn Rovers and, as he is on a four-year deal, compensation would be an issue if United harden their interest. The Chronicle accepts that the last thing United fans want is to be thrown a new name every day as they come to terms with the fact that Keegan has gone. But Ince certainly looks a possibility as he would have no problem in working with Wise. Indeed, Ince’s Wikipedia web entry claims: “On August 31, 2006, Paul Ince signed a new contract with Swindon Town as a player-coach. “Swindon were rumoured to have beaten the likes of Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion and Crewe Alexandra for his signature. “A key factor in the transfer was Ince’s long-standing friendship with Town manager Dennis Wise, who had played alongside him occasionally in the England team during the 1990s.” Quoting fuckin' Wikipedia man! Met him once, total arsehole and no doubt gives that impression to others he meets, hence why I wasnt surprised to hear that his start at Blackburn hadnt been plain sailing. Scottish Mag 3
Newcastle's new manager will be either Paul Ince or Gus PoyetBy Simon Bird 12/09/2008 Mike Ashley will choose between Paul Ince and Gus Poyet for the manager's job at Newcastle. Both men have been recommended to the underfire St James' Park supremo by director of football Dennis Wise. Ashley is now set to decide between the two over the next 48 hours, while the Toon Army are preparing to protest over Kevin Keegan's departure. Ince has the edge in terms of experience. Poyet is No.2 at Spurs and has never been a boss in his own right, while Ince has made a solid start to management at Blackburn, MK Dons and Macclesfield. The former Manchester United and England midfielder also showed his man-management skills in persuading striker Roque Santa Cruz to snub Spurs and Manchester City and sign a new deal at Ewood Park. Wise is good friends with both men, neither of whom it is understood would have any problem working with a director of football at St James' Park. But while it would take a messy compensation battle with Blackburn to prise Ince away and cause uproar at Ewood Park, Poyet's acquisition would be much easier. Ashley is keen to make a quick appointment to appease the club's fans who are set to stage a serious protest at tomorrow's home game against Hull over the exit of Keegan (left). Caretaker boss Chris Hughton will be in charge for the game and has been told he could be in charge of the first team for three games. However, Toon's waferthin squad will be without winger Jonas Gutierrez. He damaged his shoulder playing for Argentina, and is out along with Oba Martins, Joey Barton, Habib Beye, Claudio Cacapa and Mark Viduka. Hughton said: "The players accept that things have to continue and you make sure you focus on getting ready for the next game and try and win it." sammynb 3517
Fucking joke. We're about to go from a manager that understands how the club lives and breathes to being linked with two fuckers that showed contempt for our club as players and who lack real top flight experience. Anyone up for a whip around to see Ashley sorted? Cunt.
