We as fans certainly need to do something about it. but what I do not know if I am honest. Look at the English for protesting, do we do it as good as the Italians and Spanish? I dont think so. Yes the Italians are all corrupt but its their clubs and when something isnt right they let the board etc know. The English, well there is some out cry but its soon forgotton. Boycotting Ashleys purse strings for one day isnt going to do naff all. He has lost more playing at the Casino. People will soon forget about buying and there will be other several hunderd if not thousand who will not boycott at the stadium on Saturday. Boycotting by going in late, again several hundered if not thousand will go into the game early, people with kids etc. Then staying after, its always going to be hard. What needs doing? IMO some sort of banner protest and I mean banner, lots of em, huge ones of some sort, something thats going to attract the medias attention. I have a couple of issues I do something very minor about. I don't eat Halal meat as I think it's cruel and I don't buy battery eggs for the same reason. I'm no Che Guevara. I dont buy Halal meat is its scandelous and battery eggs or the meat is sick and they (super markets) should be shot for it. We are pants though at protesting on things. Firstly I pay a fucking fortune for my ticket and I aint giong to waste that money (any more than I already to by paying a fortune to watch the shite that's been served up for the past few seasons). Secondly the players are not at fault for any of this mess so I will still support them as the last thing I want is another season with the threat of relegation there until the last few games. And finally because I don't beleive it will do any fucking good at all. If we've paied for the tickets it doesn't harm the owner if we don't turn up to watch the match and tbh I believe Ashley will have already decided to sell or stubbornly stick it out and boycotting a game won't change his mind obout that. I would say that I would boycott official merchandice, Shearers bar and the bars at the ground but they don't get my cash anyway so I can't see it making much difference. So many people are offering so many different options or opinions for protest that the whole thing is threatening to become a mess. Let's face it. How many of the 50,000+ is online reading this, or any other website involving our lot? Not many, I reckon. It's not to say something won't happen. But I reckon either the informed lot won't be effective enough or mongs with no real idea about what's going on will say and do the wrong thing and look bloody stupid.... ...And you all know for a fact who the media will turn the spotlight onto. Even if the lads who've paid for season tickets don't show I'm sure that the club will find people to sell tickets to on the day. Nobody should be able to take that away. The merchandise seems the most sensible idea if the majority go along with it. But give it 2 games, and there'll be a "Get There Early For a Free Pint" scenario and I think it'll lose momentum and we'll be back to normal. Can anyone tell me the reaction to FFS and Hall in the brothel by the fans-was there protests? I can't remember. I doubted there would be many and assumed it would more likely be the clowns who we saw knocking back cider for camera's who would go for this but it appears that there are a few who I would consider to be intelligent posters on here who seem to be up for it. I will add that while I'm not going to waste my ticket I don't see a senario at the moment that would see me getting a ticket for any cup games for the near future.
