Tbf to Shepherd, he didn't want to sell whereas the Halls couldn't sell quickly enough. I wouldn't crucify the latter if they did so in good faith though, given the way KK was hoodwinked too. Park Life 71 Posted September 8, 2008 Share Posted September 8, 2008 To say he should have quit earlier (if he had been misled) is ridiculous imo since he must have hated having to quit for several reasons - love of the club and its fans down to stuff like knowing the press would (to steal his phrase) just love it if he did so. Not to mention the club having him over a barrel with the much talked-about £2m clause in his contract. Also, this sort of thing builds up over a while and, as I see it, the events in the lead up to the transfer window closing, he thought fuck it! FYP. Theyve already said that they wont boycott the game so sounds like they wont delay entry. They need some kind of visual boycott, whether that be cards to hold up, backs turned against the playing surface, banners or pre or post match demonstration. If Keegan is telling the truth, he should have walked months ago, not the day after the transfer window shut. If the club is telling the truth, they should have sacked him months ago. No matter who is telling the truth, the actions of all concerned have leftt the club where we are today. I know its not a popular view, so apologies but i cant help what i think. tbf Adam I think KK hung around to the end of the transfer window to give them the benefit of the doubt. My granny could have made that press statement and it would have been as shocking. Im not advocating burning down Sports Direct stores but I would have thought that one of the most important things is to get the general public to see what you're doing, show them in a clear way not having to wait a year for the annual accounts to show a 70% drop in coffee sales. Even if word went around that we should all stay in our seats and sing Keegan Wonderland at the stroke of half time, the cameras would be out in force and it would give a statement. Regardless however as to how much or little bite this has, theMag/TF have themselves set their stall out as the fans spokesmen and we should now all follow otherwise we wont gain anything. Those that are saying they're boycotting the game are wasting their time, maybe what? optimistically a thousand fans stay away, then nothing is achieved we just look like we havent sold all our tickets, 2% of the ground missing is nowt. Those that are looking to march will just be joined by every mong and tosser that usually hang around for a SSN interview. Even the none wearing of toon tops is irrelevant unless at least 50% of the ground joins in otherwise it will just look like we havent done our washing. As the proposal put forward is what most of us were going to do anyway then personally Id recommend waiting to see what nufc.com come up with and adding to this tap on the wrist that TF wasted a press release on. We'll get a crap turnout - as per Bolton, but only a minority will refuse to by food/drink. We'll give Hull a pasting and everyone will act as if everything is rosy in the garden again.
