Leeds highest ever average attendance = 39,460

Proper fans...

Not bad considering Leeds has always been a Rugby League city, with our county cricket team. You? You've only got Newcastle 'toff' Falcons. We have the Rugby League world champions and Yorkshire CC. Proper fans... As you quite rightly say.

Are you arguing against yourself now?

I still don't get the European Cup thing.

UEFA and the international media acclaimed us to be the real Champions of Europe. Even the Paris paper at the time on the front page had the headline: Leeds United Worthy Champions. Mind, what do you expect being Leeds? Being robbed is all part and parcel.

Nice to see you moved on anyway.

Aye, and for the worse, European Cup Final to the Third Division. Isn't that the league what Hereford were in when they beat Newcastle in the FA Cup, 1972? The season when we won it.

I fail to see how that's supposed to get to us like.

No, it's a genuine question as I'm not too sure as to what division they were in when they beat Newcastle, despite the Toon having a 1-0 advantage.

They were non-league. Before I was born like. You really are clutching at straws now.

Fuck me, I play for a non league reserves side. Never realised they were that low. 'Kin ell.

Not bad for an OAP like.

I think he might not always be telling the truth. :woosh:

So you're saying you lot prefer cricket and rugby league to football?

Before the Revie era, as has already been said, Leeds were nothing more than Luton Town, by the end of it, we were one of the biggest clubs in the world. Before this, Rugby League was always the way of life, and considering that from 1975 onwards our ground has only held 40-44k, I think that's pretty decent going.

36 years ago man...

You lost to the same lowly Hereford in the FA Cup only last year.... and you were playing at home! :woosh:

Aye, the same Hereford that are now in our league? What was your excuse?

They weren't last year though

Anyway, what happened to you lot in the FA Cup the year after we lost to Hereford? Lost to some two-bit second tier team IIRC.

And what about 2002? Premiership Leeds defeated by second division Cardiff City?? Very similar to the Newcastle-Hereford situation don't you think? :icon_lol:

Hence why with the exception of two clubs last season, every other clubs highest attendance came against Leeds.

Fallen giants  you were no bigger than Luton before Revie came, then some Leeds inhabitants decided rugby was shit and started watching football. A club who have never averaged over 40,000 in thier history will never be giants in my book.

Aye, that's true, but by the end of Revie's tenure, we were along with Liverpool, Real, Barca, Bayern one of the biggest clubs in the world. Shall we have a look at your attendances upto the start of the millennium:

Oh, and what about those 45 fans you took to the Inter Toto semi final?

The irony of it is this is Leeds' most succesful period in their history and the worst in our history and we had higher average gates in half of those years you quote you total spastic :woosh: The above include two average gates when we were the second tier, and we were the third best supported club in England thanks for pointing that out. I'll also point out that your lowest average gate of 13,000 is even smaller than Sunderland's. You are a mickey mouse club, thanks for that.

ANY non toon fan, or defecting toon fan, from what we perceive to be a smaller club gets sucked into these arguments every time.

Will these minnow fans never learn?

I was in Leeds last week for a dull meeting, MvB came in and did a delightful rendition of Dee-Lites "Groove is in the Heart".

Cheered me up no end.

Can't let this go by unnoticed

Boredom, ever since I revealed I was a Leeds fan, the thread boomed.

Post nude/cornrows pics of yourself and it will go gold.
