Offshore Toon 0
Unusually generous of Shearer to admit he never touched it. It was for a good cause. The poor lad can't get any work at the moment. That goal will make him feel better.

Guest Stevie
Class header from Shearer. To say he's been retired two years it was fuckin awesome. I'm yet to see Rooney or even Viduka to score a header as good as that for us.

Chaser 1261
I think we should ask Al to come back onto the playing staff never mind the coaching staff.
tinofbeans 91
he'd still do a good job for any team in the premiership. I didn't realise actually how good shearer was until he went! If he'd have been injury free he would have been the best english centre forward in my lifetime. as for ben sheppard and Wilkes being good footballers, thats just hilarious. sheppard is just a fitness freak, wilkes is alright but doesn't know when to release the ball. I though that lad that played on the right midfield for us did very well.
Ayatollah Hermione 14069
Anyone catch what Shearer said to Craig David in the locker room at the end when he was presented with the MOTM and they were showering him with champagne? Was something like "Thought you only had drinks on Thursday". The witty bastard.

Let's not kid ourselves here, a one off game against other celebs/ex-pros that's he been training for for weeks is a world away from playing week in week out against dedicated pros. He still has the skills but it was time for him to go. I don't tjhink he'd have wanted his career to slowly grind to a halt playing for some mid-table also ran like...erm..us. Toonraider 0
I enjoyed the game. Loved seeing Shearer with the three lions on his chest again. The man will always be a legend to me. Danny Jones did very well. Had to laugh at Kenny's 'team talks'
